My name is Finley Sierra Harris, and I just got the job of my dreams. I just got the job of a Disney princess. That may not seem much to you, but it is my dream job.
I grew up right next to Disney. My mom, dad, my brother Alfie, and I would go twice every year, once at Christmas and once during the summer. We would always go on December 21 and June 19. My favorite part was going to see the princesses. They were always my favorite. I always wanted to be a princess. I wasn’t a girly girl, but I wasn’t a tom boy either. I was a mix of both. Aurora was always my favorite. Her silence and elegance intrigued me. I visited the princesses so often that I became a regular. “Hello, Sierra, how are you?” they would ask. I went by my middle name back then. And I would say, “Fine, how are you?”
Two days ago I went in for my interview to become a princess.
“Miss Harris, you’re up dear,” the secretary told me. I was scared but excited.
I’m not allowed to say what went on in there, but let me just say there were a lot of questions. Anyways, two days later, I got a call.
“Is this Miss Harris?” the person asked.
“Yes, who is this?” I asked.
“This is Mr. Thomson,” he replied. “I called to tell you if you got the job or not.”
“And?” I asked. The excitement was building.
“You got the job of Aurora,” he told me. I could detect the smile in his voice.
I screamed forgetting that I was still on the phone.
“Calm down,” he laughed.
“Sorry,” I laughed awkwardly.
“You start tomorrow,” he told me. “You can come in normal clothes. We will have your costume ready when you arrive before five. See you tomorrow.”
“Alright, see you tomorrow,” I said.
I went to bed early because I had to get there before five the next morning.
“Today’s the day!” I exclaimed after I woke up at four. I was really excited. I quickly threw some jeans and a t-shirt. I tied my shoes and ran to my car. I was ready to go and start my new job.
“Good morning, you must be Miss Harris,” the secretary said.
“Yes, but please call me Finley,” I told her.
“I am Rosa Rodriguez. I am the main secretary here,” she told me.
“Alright, where do I need to go?” I asked.
“You need to go to Mr. Thomson’s office. He has your costume,” she pointed down the hall.
Two hours later, I had my costume on. Mr. Thomson told me the rules and where I had to stay.
“Are you Princess Aurora?” a little girl with a lisp asked.
“Yes I am, and who might you be?” I asked.
“My name is Gracie, and I’m this many,” she said holding up four fingers.
My day went by quickly. I was doing the job of my dreams! I was having so much fun.
“Excuse me, princess, but could you help me?” I turned around. I saw a boy with longish curly brown hair. His green eyes were full of laughter and joy. His lips were pulled into a smile. He was absolutely gorgeous.
“What can I help you with, sir?” I asked him. Man, he was gorgeous.
“You can give me your number,” he said smirking.
