Chapter 7

Alaya: I hide my dissatisfaction from your swift and simple answer. I actually think about your question this time before answering saying "Heartbreak from someone I thought it would never come from. Why do you want to forget your father?" I ask carefully trying not to push too far.

Kai: I thought for a second, trying to figure out how to word it without giving what happened away. "He was abusive to my mother," I evaded. "Now... Greatest pleasure?"

Alaya: I pick up on you pushing away from the topic of your father and brush it off. Everyone has their own demons. I bite my lip thinking for an answer before saying "Love would have to be my greatest pleasure. I would do anything for it." I lick my lips and glance over at my drink and back at you. "What's your biggest fantasy?"

Kai: "World domination," I smirked, making it seem as though it were more of a joking matter. "What do you fear most?"

Alaya: I laugh at your answer. "World domination, really? And honestly I'm not sure what my biggest fear is. Besides you might want to use it against me." I say with a giggle in my voice. "I'm not really afraid of much. What about you, what's your biggest fear?" I finish and take a sip of my drink that's getting lower and lower.

Kai: I chuckled at you. It was pleasing to see that you were opening up to me a little more. I thought for a moment before I answered you. "Disloyalty. More specifically, being betrayed by someone I trust. We only have so many people we can count on."

Alaya: I nod at your answer before saying, "I like that. I might have to take that from you. That's my new biggest fear."

Kai: "No no, that's not how it works. You can't take my fear as your own," I teased.

Alaya: I smirk at you and ask "Who are you? The fear police?" I think about what I just said and shake my head before laughing at myself and saying "Okay that was really bad." I quickly gulp down the rest of my drink and jump up out of my seat.
