Chapter 3

Kai: I took your hand in mine and shook it. "So tell me, Alaya. What brings you to the bar in the first place? You don't look like much of a drinker?"

Alaya: I laugh and say "Really? Is it that obvious? I normally stay away from alcohol but I'm not having the best night. Not only did I get laid off from my job but an asshat was elected President and I figured out my boyfriend just fathered a child. I guess while I was at work making sure we had food to eat he was busy having sex with a 19 year old who can barely tie her shoes by herself. Today is just a lovely day. What about you?" I question. "Why are you here?"

Kai: "I just wanted a drink," I shrugged. "I'm sorry that happened to you, though. Your boyfriend is a fucking asshole for doing that."

Alaya: I nod my head, "But at least I know now that he sucks. I was planning on marrying this guy.... Listen to me, I'm spilling out all of my secrets to you and you're not telling me a single one of yours. Tell me one of your secrets,." I lean in closer to you.

Kai: "I'm not really one for secrets," I dismissed with a small smile, pausing a moment as the bartender refilled my drink. "But I guess I can part with a little lesser known information." Humoring you, I leaned in slightly. "I was sent to court-mandated anger management classes a few months back."

Alaya: I raise my eyebrows slightly shocked, slightly in admiration. "Ooo Mr. Put together gets in trouble?! I bet the media ate that up. What'd you do to someone that was bad enough to have to go to anger management classes?" I smirk while waiting for your answer.

Kai: "I smacked my sister's friend," I stated plainly. "She was bitching about women having equal rights, and she kept pushing me, so I gave her what she wanted and treated her how I'd treat a man doing the same thing. I smacked her." I sighed slightly before continuing earnestly, "I felt bad about it. She just got me so angry, I didn't even realize what happened until after I'd done it. She pressed charges, and I was put in anger management."
