To start this One shot Fanfiction, I decided to take a Umi x Reader Story. This is kinda for my best friend Sonoda-san, since her Best Girl is Umi and I didn't know how to start. I hope you'll like It!

(Side note: if a Story contains smut, I'll put a warning at the beginning. This story doesn't!)

Hey, my name is (f/n)(l/n). I just moved into this area. Today, I'll have my first day at my new school as a second year. I'm very excited, but also a bit nervous. I'm not that social and it's hard for me to interact with people. I wouldn't say I'm antisocial, but it's still very difficult for me to start conversations.

It was a warm spring day. The cherry trees had the most beautiful shades of pink and let their petals slowly sink to the floor. I walked down the long path that led to the tall school building. I nervously plucked at the skirt of my uniform. I was afraid that it looked weird on me.

While I walked down the campus, many students looked at me with a questioning face. Is it that unusual to have a new student? Or did I look weird perhaps? I didn't know. I just decided to kinda ignore it and walked into the building. I searched for the guidance counsellors office.

While almost getting lost in the tall school, I noticed a particular girl. She had very long blue hair and shining, yellow eyes that seemed kind of familiar to me. I stopped walking and looked at her for an eternity. She was talking to two girls that seemed to be her friends. One of the girl had orange hair and blue eyes, the other one had brown hair with the same yellow toned eyes as her.

I felt like I've seen her before. I got lost in my thoughts and thought of it. Where did I know her from. Wait... Isn't she...? I played with her when I was little!

I snapped out of my thoughts and walked toward her. "Umi? Is that you?" She turned around and looked at me with big eyes. "No way." She said. "(F/n)? I haven't seen you in ages!" She smiled at me with a slight pink dusting her cheeks.

-

"May I introduce you? (F/n), this is Honoka." She looked at the ginger haired girl. "Heyy! Nice to meet you!" She raised her hand for a high five. I was a little insecure but soon raised my hand to give her the high five. "Nice to meet you." I responded a little nervous. "And this is Kotori." The brown haired girl gave me a warm smile. "Nice to meet you." She happily chirped.

"Hey, could you maybe show me how to get to the guidance counselor? I still don't know what my class is." I asked. Umi smiled at me. "Sure, follow us."

-

"You're kidding! We're in the same class!" Honoka shouted when Mrs. Minami told me in which class I am. "That's great." I replied with a slight smile coming across my lips. I looked over to Umi and saw her smiling to herself. She seemed to be happy about something. "Let's go and show (f/n) the school!" Kotori took Umi and me by the hand to show me around.

The school day has ended and Honoka, Kotori, Umi and I walked home together. We laughed together and talked about lots of things. But something seemed to bother Umi. She seemed to be a little sad or something like that.

"Kotori and I have to go into this direction. See you tomorrow!" Honoka waved and walked down the street together with Kotori.

Umi and I walked down the street in the opposite way. We both didn't say a word during our walk. I wanted to speak, but I didn't know what to say. "I'm very surprised you came here." Umi suddenly broke the silence. "I was so sad when you left back then." She added and looked at the ground. "You were gone without even saying goodbye." I heard sadness in her voice.

I didn't know what to response. I can't remember what happened back then. I sighed. "I'm sorry. I can't remember what happened. I was still so little. I wanted to say goodbye so desperately, but my parents didn't allow me to." I replied. Umi looked at me a little confused.

-

We sat down at the shrine and talked a little more. From the bench we were sitting on, we were able to see the sunset. "I'm happy you're back." Umi finally smiled again. The sunset mirrored in her eyes and made them shine even brighter.

"I am as well." I replied and looked at the beautiful coloured sky above us. I wanted that moment to last forever.

Umi suddenly rested her head on my shoulder. "My feelings haven't changed since that day." She mumbled. "Huh? What do you mean?" I asked. She giggled.

"That's a secret." She said with a teasing tone.
