And another day where I didn't get noticed by her.

I always try to get noticed by our school's student council president. Why you ask? Well, the reason is obvious. Just look at her! Her beautiful Russian looks, the blonde hair, those eyes of blue... How can't you fall for that?

She's just so beautiful and nice. Anyone would fall for her. Including me.

I walked home alone as always, a little saddened because Eli seems to ignore me. I was in her class, but it looks like she doesn't even know that.

I felt a few raindrops plopping onto my head. My luck has never been the best.

I looked for a place to escape the rain. The closest was the shrine nearby our school so I quickly rushed there. I hate the rainy season.

I didn't have an umbrella with me, so I waited and waited but the rain never came to an end. I just decided to walk through the rain and risk catching a cold. It's already been late by the time I decided to go on.

Of course, I live pretty far away from home, so I'd be totally soaked as soon as I'd be home. I didn't care at all, so I normally walked down the street as if it was nothing.

Suddenly, there was no more rain pouring onto me, all I heard was the soft pattering of the rain on the umbrella above me.

"You'll catch a cold like that!" A familiar voice said. I turned around and saw Eli, who was holding the umbrella. "Let's go home together, we live close together after all." She smiled at me.

We walked close to each other so we'd both fit under the umbrella together. Our shoulders were often bumping together while walking and I tried to avoid it as good as I could.

"Hey, don't worry." Eli seemed to notice that I felt a little weird with it. "We're classmates after all."

So she knows me?

I smiled to myself as she said that. I didn't expect her to have noticed me. I was pretty quiet, and I only hang out with one of my friends. We never walk home together since we live in the opposite direction. I bet she would've had an umbrella...

But this wasn't bad at all.

"Say, why do you never try to talk to the others in class? Sometimes I tried coming up to you, but you always rush out of the classroom when class ends!" Eli broke the silence between us.

"Well... I'm not sure myself." I replied. "I only hang out with my friend from the 2nd year. I'm really bad at meeting new people." I quietly added.

"Well, You met someone new just now!" She chuckled. Her phone suddenly buzzed. "Ah, sorry. Could you hold the umbrella real quick?" Eli pressed the umbrella into my hand and got out her phone.

"Nozomi?" She answered the phone. We kept walking down the street and I watched every step she made. I didn't want her to be distracted and accidentally bump into something. I don't even know.

"Sorry, I can't right now, let me call you back later, okay?" Eli then hung up.

Did she just tell her best friend she's not available because of me? No...

She's probably only being nice to me since she's the student council president...

I sighed.

"What's wrong?" Eli asked, giving me a gentle smile. "Ah, nothing, really." I replied and gave her a smile too.

She seemed to notice I was lying, but she didn't any dig deeper.

"I live just around the corner." Eli stepped away from me and rushed to the other side of the street. "See you at school tomorrow!" She waved a goodbye and already vanished behind the corner of a huge building.

"Eli, wait! Your umbrella!" I shouted after her, but she didn't come back. I decided to just give it to her on the next day.

---

"Eli, I still have your umbrella." I was about to hand it to her. "Keep it. It'll rain again today, and I suppose you don't have one with you again?" She chuckled.

My face heated up a little. "How did you know...?" I pouted and looked away.

Eli gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.

"You should take care of yourself a little more." She smiled and turned around to leave the classroom with Nozomi.

She left me there, all red, holding onto the umbrella tighly as I cupped my cheek with the other hand.

I then chuckled to myself.

"I hope I'll forget it next time too."
