It was a really hot summer day in Tokyo. School had just ended and I wanted to get a cool drink somewhere nearby. I strolled through the crowded streets, looking for a pretty café to sit in. I was actually just hoping that they had a air conditioner.

I saw a small café that was only about half or maybe a mile away from my School, so I decided to go there. When I entered, a young woman happily greeted me. "Welcome!" She cheerfully chirped. She had light brown, long hair and wore the outfit of a maid. She had a badge in her dress, reading the name "Minalinsky".

I stepped into a Maid Café.

"Oh excuse me I--" I wanted to explain that I walked into the wrong café, but the young woman, now known as Minalinsky, already led me to a table to sit at.

Luckily, they had a air conditioner, and there weren't many people in the café. After I sat down, Minalinsky placed a cup of water with ice cubes in it on the table.

"Here's the menu for this season. Minalinskies recommendation of the day is the Strawberry Shortcake along with a refreshing, icecold Strawberry Lemonade!"

She handed me the neatly decorated menu. While I looked at it for a While, I decided to just take her recommendation. She warmly smiled at me. "One Minalinsky special! Just a second!" She then walked into the kitchen.

She seemed so nice and cheerful. Something about her attitude made me feel so comfortable. But for some reason, she seemed so familiar to me...

We have that really big monitor in front of our School, the UTX. There sometimes are school idol things, like our very own school idol group A-RISE, displayed.

Didn't I see her on that screen once?

You see, I'm a little into that school idol stuff as well, but I'm not a pro at it.

When she came back, she hummed a little melody while placing the plate with the cake and the glass of lemonade on the small wooden table.

I recognized that song, but couldn't really remember it clearly. I tried listening carefully, but It simply wouldn't come into my mind. "Sorry, are you okay?" A voice interrupted my thoughts. Minalinsky looked at me a little confused.

"Ah, Sorry. To tell you the truth, I tried to figure out what melody you were humming just now. I recognize it from somewhere!" I said. Minalinsky chuckled. "It was a song called "Start:Dash!!", the very first song of the idol group Muse." She replied.

Muse? Wait...

That hairstyle... it all kind of fits, doesn't it? Could it be her?

"Uhm... Sorry for asking, but..." I didn't want to bother her to be honest, but I had to know. "Is it possible that you're Minami Kotori from Muse?"

Her eyes widened a little. She then smiled at me a little embarrassed and stuck out her tongue playfully. "Guess you've got me there." She replied.

---

"Ah? So that's why?" I looked at Kotori in disbelief. "Yeah..." She looked a little sad. "I just love working in that café." She added.

We were sitting on a bench nearby the shrine and looked at the sunset. "I wouldn't have expected it to be you." I smiled at her. "But don't worry! Your secret is safe with me!" I said with a determined tone in my voice.

She seemed to relax a little. "Thank you, (y/n). It really means a lot to me!" She gave me a gentle smile.

"Would you like to come back tomorrow maybe? Your order goes on me this time!" She cheerfully said. I chuckled. "Of course."

---

With that, I visited the café every day after school. I'd chat with Kotori, and we often went somewhere when she was done with work. Sometimes I helped her out so she'd be done earlier.

I didn't know if Kotori felt the same way, but I soon began to develop feelings for her. But what could I do? She was always so nice, caring and cheerful. There wasn't anything else I could wish for. I was happy whenever she was around me.

"Hey, (y/n)?" She interrupted my thoughts. "You've been pretty absent lately. Everything fine?" She asked with a little of worry in her voice. "Hmm? Ah, don't worry about me! I'm completely fine. Just a bit stress with school." I simply lied. How should I explain my feelings?

"Ah I see." By that reply, I could guess that she knew I was lying. "Anyways, do you want to go to the firework festival today?" Her cheerful nature was back in place.

"I'd love to." I replied with a gentle smile.

---

Kotori and I walked all the way up to the shrine and prayed before the festival began. We then walked a little away from the crowd, so there wouldn't be that many people around.

We both looked up to the night sky as soon as the firework started. I stood There with sparkling eyes, amazed by all the beautiful colors that shined in the night sky.

"(Y/n), the reason I invited you is actually because I wanted to talk you you for a while now..." Kotori broke the silence between us.

I looked at her a little confused.

"To tell you the truth, I-" she stopped talking mid-sentence. Her breath hicked. "Hey Kotori, you can tell me everything, and you know that." I took her hands and gently smiled at her.

She looked back up to me and smiled a little insecure. "To tell you the truth I..." She mumbled yet again. "You?" I wanted to know so desperately what she wanted to say.

Then, she pressed her lips against mine all out of the sudden. I kissed back without even thinking.

"I love you..." She mumbled after she pulled back. I pulled her into an embrace. "I love you too, Kotori!" I replied as cheerfully as she had been the first day we've met.
