Starbucks

Kenzie POV:

I pat down my hair as I walk into starbucks. As I step in I am greeted by a hug.

Br: kenz it's been so long since we've hung out

She says giving me a warm smile which I return.

K: it has

I say with a laugh. She grabs my hand dragging me to a table her blonde curls bouncing behind her. She sits down indicating me to sit opposite her.

K: girl have you ever been to Starbucks
Br: it's my favourite place duh

She giggles as I walk to the front with her following behind. We order our drinks as we sit down again.

Br: so tell me why you look as if someone died.

She reads my expression before looking at me in shock.

Br: oh my God did someone die
K: what- no it's just a lot to explain.

A Starbucks employee brings our drinks to the table as we both thank him.

Br: girl you have until I finish this Carmel frappe to tell me what happened

I sighed explaining everything that happened starting with the detention room. Brynn is one of the few people I trust with things, probably because she is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I leave out Brandons name not wanting to seem like I was blaming this all on him. When I finished Brynn breathed out, probably in shock.

Br: I would have never thought Jenzie would be a thing you guys act like you hate each other
K: exactly Brynn we hate each other which is why it can't happen.
Br: or maybe you're scared of loving him

I roll my eyes.

K: how many teen fiction have you been reading Brynn
Br: oh only like five thousand

She said as we both laugh.

Br: or maybe you have Orlando issues

She winks at me taking a sip of her caramel frappe.

K: what like daddy issues?
Br: not exactly but you're on the right track

I put my head in my hands as she pats my shoulder.

K: oh God I'm sorry I forgot to ask about you
Br: me what?

I raise my eyebrows as she grins at me.

K: who is he.
Br: my boyfriend Brandon.

I pause for a moment. No no no.

K: Brandon Rowland?
Br: yes I know he is a player but he is just so cute

There must be another Rowland family in town because I know it's not the same Brandon that asked me out and tried to rape me.

K: how long have you guys been dating
B: tomorrow is our four months.

I gulp looking down at my drink feeling sick. I wasn't joking when I said that Brynn was one of the nicest people I know and hurting her would literally break my heart.

K: do you love him

She looks at me in confusion.

B: yes..why?

The bell on the door rings just as Jayden walks in. If the phrase 'saved by the bell' was right then this was definitely one of those moments.

Ja: what's up pitches

She say walking over to us.

Ja: I just finished a perfect pitch marathon if you couldn't tell
Br: oh we can tell
K: loud and clear

We all laugh. I look at my phone and see multiple messages from my mum I groan and look up.

Br: what?
K: it's my mum I have to go do homework

I say rolling my eyes.

Ja: please tell me it's not English
K: I'll save you the heart break

I say getting up as she takes my seat putting her hand on the table.

J: what is the homework on.
K: a review on how to kill a mockingbird
J: oh that's easy
K: easy for you, you mean

I say sighing.

Ja: now which one of you beautiful girls read how to kill a mocking bird.

I mentally face palm myself. I love but hate her at the same time.

K: I will text you the story line
Ja: thanks I love you

Her and Brynn laugh as I walk out the door turning to give them a small wave.
