This is my fault

Kenzie POV:

I sit in the balcony and look out as I note down all the colours I see. Purple, pink a little bit of blue.

'"I love them to galaxy and back, and if you don't believe me." I spray the spray again....'

B: hey

I jump and look to the side where Brandon was now standing.

B: are you ok?

I quickly wipe my tears at the back of my hand, and glare at him.

K: yeah

I say coldly. We stand there in silence.

B: you're going back to maddie soon....
K: yeah I am

I carry on staring and the sky noticing the pink turning into orange, I look at him now to find him staring at me.

K: don't mess it up Brandon
B: mess what up-
K: with Jayden, don't mess it up she is my friend I don't want her getting hurt.

He looks kind of hurt for a moment

B: kenzie do u really think I would ever hurt her?
K: i don't know ask your self that

He turns me around to properly face him, he quickly drops his hand from my waist.

B: kenzie the things I did to you in the past.... I'm sorry. Im-I'm ashamed of my self kenzie I have beating my self up about it. I know no type of apology could fix this, I just want to be friends.

He stares at me and drops his eyes before starting to walk I grab his hand.

K: I want to be friends to Brandon, to be honest I kind of deserved it-
B: no one deserves what I did to you.

We stand there and look at and the now darkening sky, as it turns blue. Brandon slowly chuckles and I give him a questioning look.

B: I was just remembering every time you did a hair flip, that was like.... your signature move

I glare at him and as he now laughs, I slap his arm and look away.

K: what about Carson

He freezes.

B: what about him?

I sigh.

K: are you still-
B: no kenzie we are not
K: why?

He stays quiet

K: wow Brandon I really thought for a moment that you were different from those two fools
B: there not fools kenzie
K: if your gonna isolate one of ur closest friends for being in love then I call that a fool, idiot even.
B: what if one of us start dating maddie

I shudder

K: that is just weird
B: exactly that how it is for Johnny, Lauren was never in a relationship before. He was protecting her from what he went through. And I'm damn sure he doesn't want Lauren to go through that with one of his best friends.
K: Carson's a nice guy Brandon
B: I am not saying he is not kenzie, what if he breaks up with her? It would be awkward for everyone.

I stay quiet for a moment.

K: I don't care he your supposed to stand by him.
B: you don't understand

He say with his teeth clenched.

K: oh I understand, I understand that you are-

I pause I look out as Annie grabs Lauren's huge backpack and clothes fall out. I rush down stairs and open the door. Lauren is crying and I rush to hug her.

K: what the heck happened
L: I want move away from that bastard

I raise my eye brows at Annie and she mouths Johnny

I grab a handful of her clothes and me and Annie help her take it inside. I open the door to see Johnny glaring at us. I barge past him he grabs hold of Lauren's arm. I throw all the clothes that is in my hands.

K: help your sister

I say before going upstairs, I find Brandon on my bed and I put my hands on my hips.

K: happy now?
B: what?
K: Brandon Lauren was gonna run away!
B: well she is not the fastest so I don't think she will get very far.

I use all my will not to slap him across his head.

K: do you think this is a joke?

It comes out in a small voice as my voice wavers. He sits up and now is glaring at me.

B: kenzie I do not, you ran away when things didn't go your way. Of course Lauren will try it.

I stand there stunned for a moment.

K: so your saying this is my fault
B: yes

We stand there now in silence. I shrug my shoulders.

K: get up and get out.

He stands up and makes his way to my door I slam it really hard. He is right. This is my fault.
