Raven

"So when were you gonna tell me that you stripped?" Marcus came bursting into the locker room. It was Friday night and I  had just finished my set. "Mar-Marcus? What are you doing here?" I closed my locker door and looked up to see my fuming husband. "You out here being a hoe and shit!" He yelled snatching my duffle bag full of money. "You're the one to talk. Have you talked to Jasmine today?" I asked folding my arms making him walk up to me. "Go head and hit me. Go right ahead." I dared him. I could see that his hand was itching to punch me as he balled up his fist and huffed. "Raven don't test me. Get your shit and let's go. You quit! Do you know how bad that would be if one of the members of the church recognized you?" "And what would your precious members be doing in a strip club? Huh Marcus? Matter of fact, how did you find out?" I asked not moving from my spot. "Don't worry about how I found out, just know I know. Now let's go.." he said throwing my duffle bag on the floor. "Leave that sinful money here." He said stepping over it. "Nigga you got me fucked up. I'm keeping my money. You can use the front entrance where everybody saw your Pastoral ass walk in at. Did you think about that? Nope." I say popping the p and grabbing my bag, walking out of the side door. He huffed and followed behind me. "Where are you going?" He asked as I walked the parking lot. "My car Marcus. I did drive here." I say going to my charger and getting inside. I waited until he walked to his Cadillac before I crunk up my car and pulled out of the parking lot. I could hear 'Jesus on the mainline.' Bumping behind me and I laughed knowing it was my own husband. He need to quit his shit. Yes I went home but I haven't forgotten about what he did, making a baby on me and all those ass whoopings he hand delivered. I put up with that shit for too long and if imma stay with him for the sake of his reputation, shit is gonna change. And imma do what the hell I wanna do. That four hour drive was a silent one as I let my thoughts take over and take me on a trip. Pulling into the garage. I parked and got out, grabbing my bags. "Raven." Marcus called out to me but I kept walking into the house and into my room. I gotta put this money in the bank in the morning but until then I'll slide it under the floorboard in the closet. I hurried up and acted like I was taking off my shoes when he walked into the room. "Can we talk about this?" He asked sitting on the bed. "Talk about what?" I asked turning around and closing the closet door. "Raven we have to get focused. We strayed off the path that the Lord has paved for us. I'm willing to look past all of the strip club and baby stuff if you are. We can move on." He said making me laugh. "No we can't look past the baby thing because Marcus you have a child. There is a little version of you out there. A baby that you helped make. You have to take care of your daughter. THAT is your path now. So we can't move on because you hurt me that deep. You know I've always wanted your children. And you went out and made a baby on me. You had your first child with a girl who wasn't even your wife." I said calmly as I looked him in the eyes . "I know Raven. I know that I hurt you beyond repair and I'm glad that you even decided to come back home with me. I'm sorry. Imma fix this, I promise. Just believe me okay? Imma get right and we can get custody of the baby and she can be your baby." He said standing up. I shook my head and put my hair up in a ponytail to go to take a shower. He obviously isn't understanding anything. "I'm getting in the tub." I say walking off.
