Tasha
"Damn girl." I turned around to see Tyler standing there. Blushing, I turned back around to finish picking my fruits. "Where is wifey?" I asked not looking up from the apples. "Around here somewhere. Funny I keep running into you, you stalking me?" He asked looking at me. "No. I believe you're stalking me though." I turn around and laugh. "What have you been up to?" He asked grabbing an apple out of my basket. "Nothing really. Minding my business, handling my business. All of the above." I say grabbing the apple of out his hand. "Yeah I heard about that business. A guy at my job, referred me to you." He said with a stern look on his face. "Don't look at me like that. I do what I do. It is what it is." I say walking off. "LaTasha you're too beautiful for that. You're too smart for that! Go to school, get a degree. Anything but.." "but what? Being a hoe? Fucking for money. Niggas only give a fuck about what's between my legs or my ass. You even looked at it when you walked up. So don't give me shit Ty. It pays the bills and I'm satisfied." I turn around and say. "What?! Come on man, I know you. The real you and this isn't you. This some rebellious shit you doing." He said grabbing my hand. "I'm coming to your house tonight. And we're gonna have a long talk about your future and making it bright." "Yeah okay." I snatched my hand away and walked off when I saw his wife looking at me funny as she was walking up. I stuck my tongue out at her and kept going.
I'm sitting at home, on my fourth glass of wine, when I hear a knock at my door. Looking crazy, I check the time. I didn't schedule no appointments today. I got up and looked out the window to see Tyler standing on my porch. He actually came over here? I opened the door and slide to the side to let him in. "Hey Tash." He spoke, I nodded and went back to my recliner and grabbed my glass. "Want some?" I asked him passing him the bottle. "Glasses are in the kitchen." He chuckled and got up to go get his own glass. "So what I wanted to talk to you about was your future man." He said sitting back down and pouring his drink. "Tyler. Everybody can't be like you. Everybody didn't have the perfect life like you." I say feeling myself get a lil beyond tipsy. "Perfect life? Is that what you thought I had? Man my mom beat my ass every night. I had it in my head that I was going to do whatever it took to get out of that house." He drunk the wine in one gulp and poured himself another glass. "I didn't know." I whispered looking at him. "Now you do. Tasha you don't have to do this. This lifestyle you don't have to live it. You're better than this. Hasn't anybody ever told you that? How did you even get like this?" He asked taking off his shoes and getting comfortable. "Well my mama kicked me out of her house after you left for the military. She said that I should have went with you. I didn't have nowhere to stay and I met this man named Kent. He said I could stay with him but I had to help pay rent. He ain't want money, he wanted sex. So every night I laid there and let him climb on top of me. He taught me how to do certain stuff and I started doing his friends too, only they paid me. I figured if this all I gotta do to get money then I guess so. I just been doing it ever since." I say a couple of tears dropped but I quickly wiped them and poured myself another glass. "Damn. That's fucked up Tasha." He said getting up and pulling me out of the recliner and onto the love seat with him. "It just became convenient and I got good at and used to it so that I thought I liked doing it. I didn't have to get a real job, I could just lay on my back and get hundreds of dollars." I said as he poured another glass. "You must not be planning on going home tonight? You're gonna be drunk as hell." I said watching him down the liquid. "I don't wanna go home. Ever since I came back and saw you. You're the only thing that's been on my mind Tasha."
