I drove away from the church and headed to the jail where they had taken my husband.
"I'm here to see Marcus Williams." I said walking in through the security gate. "Let him finish being processed then we will bring him into the visitation hall. Go to glass 3." The guard said. I nodded and walked down to glass 3 and sat down. An hour later, he was brought in and he sat down across from me. I picked up the phone and he mimicked my actions. "Rae." "Marcus I don't want to hear it, you done got yourself in some shit this time." I say holding the phone up to my ear. He touched the glass and looked at me. "Bond me out. Please?" He asked. "I'll see what I can do but if you get out and you have that girl killed than you're gonna be back in here. You shouldn't have even messed around with her to begin with. Now you have no church and your precious reputation is ruined and it had nothing to do with me." I say looking at him. He put his head down and didn't say anything for a while. "And through it all, you're still my side." He said finally looking up. "That's where you're wrong. See you done fucked up. I was trying to help your rep but that's gone and now I can go too. So I'll see you later Marcus." I say getting up and walking off. "Where can I post his bond?" I asked the lady, she pointed towards a desk and I walked up there. "Is there a bond for Marcus Williams?" I asked the lady behind the desk. She snorted and begin typing on her computer. "Yes the bond for assault is $5k" she said with a smirk. "Okay." I say pulling out my debit card. "Where do I swipe and sign?" I asked looking at her as her smile faded and she took my card and gave me a receipt. "Bye now." I said and walked out. That Jasmine girl better be careful. Posting his bond is me getting out of this marriage. I cried as I went home and packed my stuff. I didn't expect this to be my life. I didn't expect my marriage to end like this. Marcus was supposed to be the one I went to the grave with but oh well shit happens. I put the last of my suitcases in my trunk of truck. And placed the house keys and the key to the charger on the table. "See you later." I said to no one in particular as I walked out of the house. "Raven?" I looked up to see Jasmine standing there. "How do you- don't tell me he had you in my house too?!" She shook her head no and looked down at the slumbering baby. "I know you couldn't have kids and I'm sorry. I'm sorry for ruining your marriage." She said looking at me. "I was serious when I said I forgive you. Take care of that baby and watch yourself." I said getting in my truck and bringing it to life. I was more than ready to put this town behind me.
