After my mom laid down at ten o'clock, I could not go to sleep.

I decided to stay up while watching tv, until I heard a car vroom in our drive way.

My first thought that it was Dad but it wasn't his car, it was Sodas.

So he wouldn't wake my mom up, I decided to talk to him outside.

Soda parked his truck a little up our drive way and parked it.

He walked up to me wearing a white shirt with a green jacket over it, blue jeans, and a black little hat on:

He said, "Hey, Em."

He had the same look on when he asked me out.

As if there wasn't any joy at all and forced against his will.

I reached out and grabbed his hand softly saying,

"He's gone, Soda...he's really gone."

He looked at me nodding and said, "I know he is but at the same time he's with us."

I sighed and asked, "Why'd you come?"

He shrugged and said, "You wouldn't answer my calls so I wanted to come."

I walked to his truck because I was so cold and sat in the passenger seat.

He followed me to his drivers seat.

I looked out my window as he started up the car putting the seat warmers on.

He asked me at the most random moment, "So, how do you feel about Ponyboy?"

I looked over at him to see that he was serious.

I shyly gave him a smile and said, "He's kind, he loved Johnny more than anything, he's intelligent, but he's an outsider."
