Chapter Six~

We finally made it to my house, with much struggle. Briss opened the door as I dragged mother inside. In an instant, grandmother was there.

"What happened child?" she asked me.

"Mother," I said while gently laying her down on the kitchen floor, "was attacked by a Demon,"

I heard her gasp. "She's bitten,"

I only nodded, not trusting my voice at the moment. My throat had closed, and tears were threatening to fall.

I quickly grabbed the medical kit that was still on the kitchen table. I opened it and immediately took the bandages out. I knew I would be needing those.

I gently lifted mother's shirt up, revealing her wound. I could tell instantly that this was not a minor bite, and there was a lot of blood loss.

Not hesitating any longer, I proceeded to wrap the bandage around her torso, making sure the wound was covered. Mother groaned many times, clearly in pain. I wanted so bad to take away her pain, or to even switch places with her. I couldn't help but feel as if this was my fault. If only I stayed at home. If only I didn't over react and storm off. But that's just it. Did I over react? No. I can't focus on that right now. Mother's health is the only thing I need to be concerned about at the moment.

I suddenly heard shuffling behind me. "Nora, what is going on?" Delst asked weakly.

I glanced back at him and saw Amelia supporting Delst as he walked. his eyes grew wide to the sight of mothers pale face.

"Briss?!?" Amelia exclaimed. "what are you doing here?"

I glared at Briss. "You two know each other?"

Briss sighed and rubbed his temples. "Amelia is my sister,"

I raised my eyebrows. What?! Why didn't he say anything to me?

"Did you....did you know about the engagement...?" I asked him.

He closed his eyes. "Yes. I did,"
