When I walked into my chambers, all I could do was stare in awe. The room was huge, and nothing like I've ever experienced in my life. Nobody has such luxuries as this.

I stepped inside the room, and closed the door behind me, still taking everything in. The bed, was tucked away in the corner, and despite it's huge size, it didn't take up that much space in the room. A thick curtain was pulled around it, with delicate roses painted on it. Beside the bed, stood a night stand with a cupboard door. I could tell it was made of cedar wood, from the beautiful wood pattern. On top of the night stand was a large lamp, with a vase of roses next to that. A blue rug sat in the corner of the bed and the night stand, and had a soft appearance to it. The floor was a dark hard wood flooring, and I could not tell what wood this was, but it looked elegant. Across from the night stand, on the other side of the room, stood a dresser with a mirror attached to the back of it. A chair was placed next to it, and I realized this was my desk. I saw papers sitting atop the desk, and chose to look at them afterwards. I noticed a door off to my right, and as I peered inside, I knew that that must be the bathroom. I stepped inside, and saw just how big this bathroom was. The counters were huge, and wide, giving plenty of space to put things I surely didnt have. The bathtub was an oval shape and had jets poking all around inside it. It looked amazing. I went back inside my actual bedroom and sat on my bed. It bounced as I sat, and I couldn't help but lay all the way down. I have never been more comfortable in my life.

This luxury, was for all members of the rebellion no doubt. But it didn't make sense to me. These people, who were a part of the rebellion, they had all of this, did they not think of taking in ordinary people? Sick people, to nurse them back to health in this outstanding environment? Wasn't it their goal to stop Them? If so, wouldn't they want all people to be healthy, and strong? Why did those people need to come to them? I can understand that the people leading the rebellion needed to be secretive, but something wasn't clicking. I didn't understand.

Suddenly, I heard a knock on my door. I casually stood and walked over, opening it widely. Before me stood Briss.

"Hey, look, I'm not supposed to be here in the girls Hall, but i just need you to keep Amelia company while I talk to Callum about her joining. Please?" His almost-white eyes were pleading.

I sighed and glanced at my feet. As much as I didn't want to do this, I knew that doing this favour now, could save me in the future. "Fine. But you owe me,"

He breathed a sigh of relief, and waved Amelia into my room. She ducked her head as she entered. She knew I didn't enjoy her comapny.

"Thanks Neera. I'll see you around," He smiled at me kindly, then faced his sister. "I'll be back soon Amelia,"

She nodded her reply before I closed the door on Briss. I faintly heard his footsteps as he walked away.

I turned to Amelia. I had a slight pity for her. What my brother must have said would have been hurtful for her, I know how he is at the worst of times. She didn't see that when she got engaged to him. She was blind in the sense that she didn't see how Delst really was. I was almost glad that she left him, before she got herself into something that she would never be able to dig herself out of. But then, I realized that Delst would only become more angry, since she left. That would only cause more destruction.

"Thanks Neera..for letting me stay with you for awhile," She said timidly.

"Think nothing of it," I paused, looking her in the eyes. "You know, I am sorry that you had to go through that with my brother,"

She laughed in a sarcastic manner. "Ha, right. Well, thank you, but it's not your fault. It's really my own. I was such a foolish girl. So naive..."

I nodded. "You were, obviously. It's unfortunate that you couldn't have seen past him,"

She glanced at me, her expression that of disbelief. "Remind me not to come to you for comfort,"

I grinned, then, I saw something. It was there only a split second, but I saw it nonetheless. There was a flash of red that shimmered across her normally blue eyes. it reminded me of the eyes of one of the Demons. I thought I was imagining things, but it happened again. That shimmer of red.

"Amelia...are you feeling well?" I asked cautiously.

She cocked her head. "Yeah, I'm alright, despite everything that happened with Delst. Why?"

"Just, uh, wondering..." I turned away from her, thinking, and I instantly knew I shouldn't have.

Amelia let out a blood-curdling scream, and I felt something jump on me from behind. I collapsed from the sudden impact and landed on my face. Black spots appeared and I felt something run down my chin. I only assumed it was blood. Pain shot through my skull from the sudden impact of the floor. I turned so my back was on the ground, and I faced my attacker. Amelia crouched over me, her eyes blood red, and a menacing grin on her face. She hissed, and jumped so she sat on top of me, pinning me down.

"Such a foolish girl. You'll believe anything won't you? Ha! Foolish! Foolish!!" She cackled and ran her tongue over her teeth.

Her knees were positioned over top of my arms, to prevent me from defending myself. Smart move on her part. But I knew I was smarter.

I lifted my leg, and kneed her in the back. She grunted, but stayed where she was. Using most of the energy I had left, I lifted my right leg to my chest, my foot in front of her, then kicked her in the face with as much force I could muster.

She fell backwards and clutched her face, blood trickling in between her fingers.

I looked around the room for possible weapons, then remembered the knives in my boots. I pulled one out, and aimed to throw one.

She then threw her hands down and gave me the most evil glare ever. If looks could kill. She sat in a half crouch, her back hunched over. She clenched and unclenched her hands, her fingers curled like claws. Her red eyes burned with fury. She then screamed a terrifying scream and lunged at me, but my knife was faster. I threw it skillfully at her, and it found it's way between her rib cage before she got the chance to leave the ground.

Her mouth fell open in the shape of an O, and she fell to her knees. The red colouring in her eyes shimmered once before disappearing. She was now herself again. Amelia looked down at the knife protruding from her chest, then back at me.

"I'm free," she whispered.

I ran to her. "Amelia, no, I'm sorry, please, wait for Briss at least, I'm so sorry,"

"No, thank you. I....Delst, he...," she trailed off slumping to the floor, eyes drifting.

"Delst what?! Amelia, stay with me!"

"Watch for him Neera....he...he cant... be trusted.."

"Why? What did he do?!"

I suddenly heard footsteps outside my door, and people burst in my room, Callum at the head of the group. Briss instantly came running to Amelia's side, tears in his eyes. I stepped back, giving him room to spend time with his sister.

Heart racking sobs erupted through Briss as his sister whispered soft words to him. Her last words. I covered my mouth with my hand, stepping back even farther. It was my fault. Her death will be my fault.

Callum put a hand on my shoulder. "You did the right thing Neera, don't blame yourself. It was the demon,"

"You knew?"

"It was obvious. Her story didn't make much sense to me anyway. It's also not the first time this has happened."

I turned to face him. "But it's still my fault she had to die. I threw the knife,"

"It's not! You did what needed to be done. The Demon that possessed her would have killed you, but you stayed strong, and threw the knife. Now, Amelia is free,"

I looked at my feet, thinking. She had said something about my brother. I knew that only danger followed.

"We need to guard the bridge," I told him.

"What? Why?"

I looked at Callum, a fire burning in my eyes. "My brother is coming. And he won't be alone."
