There was once a time, when those with powers were treated equally to those without. A time when you were respected for your differences, rather than persecuted. A time in which you did not have to spend your life hidden underground, separated from your loved ones, with fear of being slaughtered for who you are. That time however, no longer existed in the eyes of humans. For now, those born with powers were torn from their homes and dubbed as 'mutants'.
Once political leaders had began to realise the sheer power and population of mutants, they had sought out a way to repel them. Special weapons were designed to burn the flesh of those possessing powers, and handcuffs were were manufactured to include limestone, which was fatal to mutants.
An organisation known as TCRI then came forward to convince the public that mutants were a threat to their lives, unfit to live among humans.
They were shunned from society, driven away from their families.Soldiers then began searches for those who'd set up new homes, abducting them, transporting them to a central plant where they were tested for the severity of their power, and the possible harm it could cause.
Those who were deemed safe were left to stay in their homes, while those deemed nuisances were shipped off to different countries. Mutants who's powers were seen as fatal, were executed. As the years past, almost half the population had been slaughtered, with a quarter of the remaining being shipped off.
Hamato Yoshi was man with the ability to harness the wind. He'd been raised in Japan with his adopted brother Oroku Saki, who was not a mutant. They had both strived to impress their father, and were both seen as very competitive until one day when their village was attacked by bandits, murdering the majority of those that lived there, including Yoshi's father. Saki blamed his brother for the death of their sensei, setting out to kill the man he'd once called his brother.
After a fatal battle between the two, Saki was left mortally wounded, and fled to another part of Japan, while Yoshi decided upon moving to New York to start a new life.
A few years after his arrival, Yoshi had came upon a small, hidden orphanage while picking up a couple supplies one night. It hadn't been an official home for the children there, just a shack big enough to house a small family.
It was then that he'd figured out the reason as to why these orphans were being locked away. They were mutants.Unable to bear the guilt of leaving them to be killed, Yoshi adopted four toddlers who he'd seemed to have developed a slight fondness to.
He'd taken them to his apartment, named them and catered for the small beings. It was years later, when his sons had just turned 6, that the men came. The men wielding weapons forged of limestone.
And that is where their story begins...
