"Hey Jack!" you yell out to your new friend who was busy doing some tricks.

You watch him and are amazed, and then he glances at you.

He finishes off smoothly, grabs his skateboard, and walks towards you.

"Hey y/n." Jack gives you a smile.

"I love how you don't bring knee pads or a helmet. Trust me that much?" he asks you, and you do realize that you did in fact come unequipped.

"Sometimes I just really decide to trust strangers." you sheepishly smile.

You can't help but hate how you were so nervous coming here that you nearly forgot the skateboard itself at your house.

"I'll make sure you don't fall." Jack places his skateboard a few feet away from where you were standing.

"I have a feeling that I will deliberately try to fall." you remark, knowing yourself well in that aspect.

"And I have a feeling that I'll make sure you don't walk out of this skate park with a scratch." Jack counters, and you smile.

You place your skateboard on the ground and Jack speaks up, "Let's make a deal,"

"I don't really do drugs."

"Not a drug deal." Jack laughs, and this relieves you.

"If I can teach you how to keep your balance and stay on the board for... more than fifteen seconds, you'll agree to go on a date with me?" Jack asks you, giving you a hopeful look.

Your eyes dart to the skateboard as you feel your face heat up.

I'll really try to learn how to do this, you think to yourself.

"Deal." You look back up at him and his eyes seem to be fill with endless joy.

After countless practices and attempts, you think you can finally make fifteen seconds without falling.

In addition, Jack was mostly right so far.

He hasn't let you fall once, and you don't even have a scratch.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven..." you whisper to yourself the count down, confident that you'll exceed fifteen seconds since Jack had been helping you for the past hour.

Of course, it didn't really take you an hour to learn it all, but you guys got caught up in conversation that you two probably spent more time talking than actually practicing.

It was until Jack asked you, "Think that the date will happen?"

You smile proudly as you whisper "zero", and then proceed to yell, "You got yourself that date, Jack!"

"Wait... how do I stop?" you ask yourself as you notice that you weren't slowing down, and you were heading straight for a fence.

"Jack!" you yell, fearful of stopping when you weren't at a good sudden stopping point.

Jack ends up grabbing you and pulling you off the skateboard, and soon both of your feet were on the ground as your skateboard went and clashed with the fence.

"Thank you." you tell him, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Of course." he says and lets go of you, and you go get your skateboard.

Looking at your watch as you grab your skateboard, you realize that you were suppose to meet up with your parents a half hour ago.

You murder curse words and tell Jack, "I'm sorry, I have to go. I had a really fun time, though. Text me, Avery!"

You don't hear his response because you leave quickly knowing that you had to go immediately.
