"Jonah, you took me to a cute carnival date. That's beyond adorable." you smile at him as you hold a stuffed orange penguin in your arms that he recently won for you.
"Too cliche?" he asks looking down at you, raising his eyebrows a bit.
"Extraordinarily too cliche." you joke, and he only gives you a 'you-know-you-love-it' type of smile.
You two continue to walk around the carnival, slow and steady footsteps against the pavement as you two admire the scene.
There were kids laughing and talking, too many of their smiles being thrown around, and you can see how pure their happiness was in the moment.
The adults had a tired face, but they put the happiness of their child first and try to match the excitement of their child(ren).
There were teenagers making the moments that they'd be sharing stories of when they're adults, the future listener being possibly their future lover, kid, or maybe coworker.
Families that were present seemed to be lost in the moments, knowing the moments of being with their family weren't to be spared.
"The night is really beautiful, don't you think?" Jonah asks you and you continue to look around.
"Easy yes, a scene from a movie." you answer, looking at the colors beaming into view.
Flashing colors impossible to ignore, kids holding ice cream cones while some of it dripped off their fingers, laughter and smiles that held gold, smells of sweets and savory delicates in the air.
He chuckles, "Beautiful scene, beautiful girl. I have some luck, don't I?"
"Pretty boy, pretty heart. I'm confident to say that I'm luckier." you smile, your hands interlocked and the slow pace making the moment a valuable one.
"You give the word 'pretty' meaning."
You smile at Jonah and continue to walk with him, happiness sinking into your bones with every step and moment that passed.
After some time passes, Jonah speaks up, "y/n, want to make a bet?"
"A bet?" you repeat after him, many ideas now rushing into your head.
"If I beat you at the Water Gun game, I plan the second date." he proposes the idea and gives you an overconfident smirk.
"Jonah, I'm planning the second date." you tell him, a smirk now forming on your face.
"Guess you'll just have to win, y/n."
"Never planned on losing." you remark, walking with Jonah to the Water Gun game.
/
"Jonah, it's okay to have lost." you comfort him by patting his back then kissing his cheek.
He sighs, "y/n, I don't know how you're so good at these games."
Jonah stands up, no longer sitting on the bench and stares at you with a blank face.
"Pretty, intelligent, skillful. Are you real?" he laughs and you stare into his smile as he pokes your shoulder.
"Pretty real, Jonah." you cheerfully tell him, beginning to walk around together once more with hearts filled of joy.
Imaginatively doubting your words he queries, "What if you're like a robot?"
You gasp with your eyes widening, "Way to unveil my secret."
Jonah laughs and pulls you close to him, wrapping his arm over your shoulder as the temperature had dropped some degrees.
You both continue to walk around the carnival, a feeling of content overwhelming you both.
Jonah clears his throat, and you look up at him.
"y/n, you want to be that cheesy couple that kisses on the Ferris Wheel when it's like at the very top?" Jonah asks you and you look at him, frowning.
"Kissing? Yes. Cheesy? No." you answer, admiring the Ferris Wheel as you walked with him.
"Perfect, we'll kiss at the top of the Ferris Wheel." he beams and you look at him confused and ask, "Huh?"
"We can look back at it and be disappointed together." Jonah shortly explains with a playful smile and you nod.
"Yeah, that sounds like a perfect plan."
