black,
a dominant shade portrayed as a hearse,
a hue used for paying your last respects,
to the person a superior took from you,
a colour loathed by middle-aged people waiting for their death sentence,
a tint you'd never expect to see blanketed around plastic trees and hastily wrapped
presents.

white,
a symbol of purity, clarity and serendipity,
the colour of snow,
the colour of holy grounds,
the colour of
christmas.
when did white override black,
when black could easily cover up,
a decade of painted whites,
a century of faked purity,
an eternity of false beliefs?

put on your thinking cap,
when the world of blacks and whites collide,
when joy would soon fade into ultimate sorrow,
would it still be called,
white christmas?
or what a hell-bound person would say,
black christmas?
