"Alright, we believe you." Steve sighs while putting his hand in the air, Bridget smiles and lets out another deep breath of relief. "But I wish you guys wouldn't have lied to us about this."

"Why?" Clint inquires. "Did you guys keep me out of the planning again?!"

"It's because we called another team to come help us," Bruce states while waving the agent off. "It was a last minute decision when the jet started to go haywire."

"That was my fault." Clint mumbles. "I had her do it."

"Wait, another team?" Bridget questions.

"The X-Men." Wanda states.

"T-the X-Men?" Bridget stutters.

"Don't tell me you know them too." Tony whines. "Do you?"

"Fine, I won't tell you." Bridget scoffs while crossing her arms.

"How do you know so many people?" Bruce questions.

"Well, I...get around a lot." Bridget offers.

"Ah." Steve nods. "They're on their way...now."

"Now?" Bridget swallows the lump in her throat.

"Mr. Stark, the team you requested has arrived." Friday's voice rings through the speakers. "Your assistant is showing them to the conference room on level twelve."

"That's the biggest one." Tony comments. "Must be a big team."

"Wait, you don't even know who is on there?" Natasha demands.

"No, I just called them like you all told me to!" Tony rolls his eyes. "Duh, Romanoff."

"Tony! We told you to talk to them first!" Steve shouts. "Not invite them over without any questioning!"

"I uh...can tell you guys that they aren't bad people." Bridget steps in. "Intimidating...but not bad."

"I heard there was a bunch of kids on the team," Tony argues.

"Well...then things have changed." Bridget mumbles. "And I am of no help."

"They are waiting in the conference room, sir." Friday repeats and Tony sighs.

"Well, come on guys. Let's go meet the team that we'll be working with." Tony orders and ushers everyone into the elevator. Peter falls into step with Bridget, offering a smile to her nervous looking form.

"You okay?" He whispers.

"I don't think I can do this." She mutters back as the doors close in front of them both.

"Don't worry, they can't be that bad." Peter mumbles.

"Yeah, well...we didn't end on good terms."

Flashback

"Bridget, slow down a second!" Logan orders as she sprints to the front doors.

"What?! What could you possibly have to say after that?!" Bridget shrieks as she whips around to face him, Logan sighs.

"I kept it from you because of who the person is." He explains and Bridget scoffs.

"Who the person is?! That is my best friend stuck there!" She yells.

"How do you know she's your best friend?!" Logan yells back. "How do you know this after three weeks?!"

"Because she was there for me!" Bridget hisses back.

"And we weren't?" He demands. Bridget stays silent for a moment. "I saved you from that base that she was in, where she watched you get tortured!"

"Maybe I didn't want to be saved!" She argues.

"So you would've rather had them turn you into a death-soldier with no thought of her own!"

"It'd be better than being stuck here 24/7! I'd at least have a fucking life!" Bridget shrieks, regretting the statement immediately.

"Really? Us helping you and taking you in? Making sure that you don't hurt yourself or anyone els-"

"That! That right there! I wasn't hurting anyone else before!" She interrupts and Logan rolls his eyes.

"You were chained in the air before, you didn't really have a chance."

"I'm going," Bridget states. "There's no stopping me."

"If you step out those doors, don't ever think about stepping back in them." Logan sneers, she sucks in a breath to try and hold the tears.

"Fine." Bridget hisses as she turns on her heel and pushes through the front doors, never looking at him until she was gone.

Reality

The doors open to reveal a large conference room where five people stand at the end of the table with one man in a wheelchair and everyone else standing behind him. Bridget bites her lip and avoids eye contact with the two who were more towards the right of the group but alas, they recognize her anyway.

"Bridget." The man in the wheelchair gasps as they all file into the room. "You're alive."

"Hi, Charles." Bridget mumbles. "Logan."

"Bridget." He gruffs back.

"So, can you explain to me how you know her?" Steve questions while looking at the two before he looks back at Bridget.

"Logan saved my life, that's it." Bridget states without breaking eye contact from the two.

"Saved your life?" Tony demands.

"I can't....I'm sorry." Bridget shakes her head before turning to leave the room. Logan sighs and runs a hand through his hair.

"She stayed with us for four months after I broke her out of Hydra," Logan grumbles while wringing his hands. "Then she went back because of someone she believed was good, obviously since she's here...that didn't go well."

"Logan," Charles warns.

"Wait, who?" Clint questions. "Please don't tell me it was a guy."

"No, girl." Logan shakes his head. "Hydra agent, a double agent of sorts."

"Jesus." Tony groans while running a hand through his air. "And we thought that this was going to be simple!"

"Tony!" Steve warns.

"What? We were all thinking it."
