"Friday, get Tony." Bruce whispers with a shaking voice as he steps away from the computer he had been working at. His hands were in the air as if he had been surrendering in a gun fight. Bruce's glasses fall from his hand and onto the floor, but they don't break.
"Come on, Bruce!" Tony whines as he walks into the lab. "I can't even shower without you breaking something?"
"Shut up." Bruce grits his teeth. "I found it."
"You found it?" Tony breathes and takes a step back from shock. No freaking way, they should've had longer. He should've had longer. "A-are you sure?"
"Yeah." Bruce mumbles with a sympathetic expression. "It's a whole elaborate plan from them, Tony. They wanted to distract us from something."
"What the hell do they have to distract us from?" Tony demands while running a hand through his hair. "We have to figure this out. Call SHIELD and the X-Men, this may be a team thing again."
"Already on it sir." Friday's voice rings through the speakers in the lab.
"Tony, we should probably tell everyone else." Bruce whispers while placing a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Before everything gets out of control."
"Yes," Tony nods. "Yeah. I just...what were they trying to keep from us?"
Few Hours Later
Conference Room 16"Let me get this fucking straight." Logan sighs while putting his hand out. Steve winces. "You didn't background check this guy? Or even the girl for that fucking matter? You just believed them?"
"I'm sorry if my mind was somewhere else!" Tony rolls his eyes. "You probably would've done the same."
Logan and Charles share a look as if having their own conversation, Logan shakes his head no and the two turn back to the group as if nothing had happened.
"Coulson, can you explain anything?" Natasha questions, trying to pull the conversation onto the matter at hand.
"They knew your weaknesses." Coulson sighs while shuffling his papers. "And they figured it out before you all did."
"Wait. Figured out what?" Clint demands.
"Woah, Coulson. You're saying that Steve and I along with Natasha and Bruce....we have kids?" Tony interrupts Coulson from speaking. Coulson just shrugs with a small smile.
"How is that possible?" Steve slowly questions.
"We don't exactly know." Coulson shakes his head. "It's a kind of technology that we didn't even know existed."
"How about you put it short?" Clint mumbles.
"They used one set of DNA to pair with a woman of their choice." He begins. "Then after they became a fetus, they somehow were able to extract the woman's DNA and replace it with the other parent."
"There's only one girl." Tony slowly replies as he swallows the lump in his throat. "Is she a mom to many?"
"No, just one girl." Fury states as he walks into the room from a door that most of the Avengers didn't even know existed. "The other has you two, which makes a lot of us not surprised that she ran off."
"Wait, ran off?" Clint rubs his temples. "So we knew this girl?"
"Do you know who they are?" Steve questions.
"Yes, but they asked to...they don't want you to know who they are just yet." Coulson shakes his head with a sad smile. They hadn't heard from Bridget in weeks, agents had been trying to track her down for the past few days but it seemed like she just disappeared again. Coulson didn't want to think about what would happen if they were in that same situation.
"What? Why?" Bruce quickly demands.
"Because....well, one of them was stuck in Hydra waiting for all of you when you focused on Tony's 'Daughter'." Fury shortly replies with a hint of disgust in his tone.
"Bridget."
