DUBUQUE, OHIO
Bridget's eyes glance to Alice, who was sleeping in the passenger seat, every few minutes as she sped down the old dirt road, her music blasting through the speakers. Which surprisingly did not wake Alice up. Bridget's phone rings for the fifth time, this time flashing a number that she did not recognize. She sighs knowing it's probably the Winchesters again before sliding the answer button across the screen and placing it between her shoulder and ear while also turning her music down.
"Hello?" She gruffly states into the phone. In the background she could hear someone yell something along the lines of 'YOU ANSWER FOR HIM AND NOT ME?! I'M DONE WITH THIS GENERATION.'
"Bridget, it's Bobby." The man finally replies as he shushes someone in the background, Bridget rolls my eyes knowing that the guy in the background was probably Dean.
"I know it's you Bobby." She sighs while shifting the phone. "Why do you think I've ignored all the other calls? This was just because I didn't want to hear my amazing ringtone anymore."
"So you decide to ignore me?! Real classy hot shot." Dean scoffs in the background. Bridget grumbles under her breath but doesn't form a sentence for a few seconds. The line stays silent until she finally decides to speak again.
"Hot shot? Really?" She demands. "Didn't we last decide that that was your nickname?"
"Last I checked, it was yours." Dean replies. The sound of movement and car doors slamming fills Bridget's ear, she knew they were either looking for her or just getting back from a hunt. She didn't want to give them enough time to track down her phone, though, so Bridget knew she had to get this thing rolling.
"Is there a point to this call? Because if there is, can we just get to it because I've got things to do and people to see." She states into the phone with an annoyed tone. Sam's loud laughter comes from the background as Bobby shushes him once again.
"You? Having a life? Please." Dean chuckles.
"It's better than what you'll ever have." Bridget quips. Sam's laughter grows to a point where someone, who didn't know him as well as Bridget did, would think he was literally dying. Add Dean swearing a bunch under his breath, and it almost felt like...home. "Bobby."
"We just want to know where you are." Bobby finally replies. "Let us help, even with what you've been through you can't do this on your own and you know it."
"Wait is she coming back to the job?!" Sam's voice yells in the background, his laughter instantly stopping.
"Just please come by the house, we can talk." Bobby begs. Bridget's eyes widen in surprise as she takes the phone away from her ear. The Bobby Singer was begging her to come home, even after they had made that stupid arrangement. This meant that it was serious. She licks her lips as she brings it back to her ear with the surprised expression still evident and it looked like it wasn't going away any time soon.
"I'll see what I can do." Bridget replies with a soft and quiet voice. "I'll see you guys in a couple of hours."
"Good." Bobby states, a smile evident in his voice. "See you then."
"Yeah, see you." She whispers before hanging up the phone. Bridget tosses it somewhere next to her. Alice doesn't move a muscle as she spins the steering wheel, causing the car to turn around and go back the way they had come. Alice only slightly stirs when Bridget turns up the radio, but even then the redhead doesn't open her eyes.
SIX HOURS LATER
SIOUX FALLS SOUTH DAKOTABridget looks at Alice one last time before she climbs out of the car. She quietly closes the door behind her and slowly walks up the front steps. Bridget tries to open the door and discovers that it was unlocked, Bobby really had a lot of faith that she'd be coming. With a deep breath to give her courage, Bridget steps through the door and walks down the hall until she's close to the kitchen.
"She's not coming Bobby." Sam sighs as Dean spins his beer bottle around on the table. Bridget rolls her eyes at the lack of faith from the boys and hides behind the door frame. "She probably just said that so she could get farther away."
"You idjits just have no faith in that girl." Bobby scoffs. "If she says she's coming, then she's coming." A man pop's in suddenly and no one seems to notice him. Bridget watches him with a careful eye, she could sense his power from across the room.
"There's somebody here." The man speaks up, ultimately scaring Dean. He jumps up from his seat, dropping his beer.
"Damn it, Cas!" Dean screams as Bridget chuckles and finally steps into the room slightly. Again, everyone in the room seemed to be so narrow minded on one subject that they didn't even notice her presence.
"You boys really have no faith in me huh?" She chuckles while crossing her arms. Slowly, she falls against the door frame with a smirk. Bobby smiles when he sees that she actually came. Deans eyes shamelessly travel across Bridget's body and she looks down to realize that she was still in the standard tight-fit SHIELD uniform.
"Nice getup." Sam comments, he too looking at it but not in the same way as Dean. Bridget rolls her eyes again, it seemed this happened often when she was around the boys, as her eyes go to the guy that Dean had called 'Cas' a few seconds ago.
"Angel?" She demands while jerking her head towards him.
"Still got that ability." Bobby mumbles while taking a swig of his beer.
"Got a lot more than that." Bridget chuckles while taking a seat at the table as if it were old times. Bobby nods and slides another beer over to her and she pops it open before taking a long swig. After a few seconds, Bridget slowly sets down the bottle and furrows her eyebrows at everyone who had been staring at her with different expressions. "What?"
"It's just been a long time." Sam mumbles. "How old are you now?"
"Twenty Four, three years younger than Dean." She nods to him.
"Wow, twenty four. It's been how many years now?" Bobby demands.
"Too long." Bridget mutters. The room falls into silence again, but it doesn't last long because someone clears their throat behind the group. Bridget slowly turns to see Alice standing there with a confused and groggy expression.
"Wait, I thought you hated them and why is that guy glowing? Are we in a Hydra induced illusion?" She slowly demands. Everyone chuckles as Bridget gestures for Alice to sit down beside her.
"It's a whole different world once involved with these losers." Bridget smiles as she looks over at Dean. The two share a look before they quickly break eye contact.
"Oh god, more craziness to this messed up shitty world." Alice groans while squishing her cheeks between her palms. Slowly, her head falls to the table and she sits there for a few seconds. "Alright explain."
