We were in the car, driving home. Matt and I were both laughing about god knows what. But he was happy and that's all that mattered. He had one hand on the stirring wheel and the other on my hand, grasping it tightly.

We arrived to my place. We got out and walked to my door. We stood outside the door. My mom was working still. She'd be back in a few hours. I wished that she didn't have to work the night shift.

I could see the glow of the porch light in Matt's eyes. "Did you have fun?" He shoved his hands in his pockets. I nodded, smiling. "Really?" He trailed off. "Most fun I've had in a long time." I replied.

Then it went silent. But for some reason it wasn't awkward. It was like our minds were conversing and all we had to do was study each other.

"Could I stay a little longer?" He smiled. It was Saturday night and I was alone. The date yesterday, tired me so much. I spent all day in bed. I nodded, opening the door. He walked in, taking off his shoes. Sawyer walked over to Matt. Matt lied down with Sawyer and played with him. "I'll be back." I said, before going upstairs.

I changed into sweats. I met Matt downstairs. He looked at me, but he kept his eyes on me. "Is there something wrong?" I blushed. I didn't like it. "No nothing." He just smiled at himself.

I lied down on the opposite end of the couch. Looking at the ceiling. I was lost in my thoughts.

"Ouch!" I heard Matt yell. I shot up. "Matt!" I sat up, searching to see what was wrong. Sawyer had got excited while playing and scratched Matt's face. He had a scratch under his eye. "Sawyer." I scolded. Sawyer had grown since Matt had given him to me. Sawyer hopped off the couch, and I took his spot next to Matt.

"Shit that hurt." He kept touching the scratch which was bleeding slightly. "Matt, stop touch it." I brushed his hands away from his face. I held his face in my hands. I studied his scratch. It wasn't even that bad, but it probably hurt.

"You'll be fine." I giggled. "No I won't." He whined. "Oh really?" I raised an eyebrow at him. "I need a kiss." He pouted. "No you don't." I shook my head. "Yes I do." He argued. "Nah, Sawyer needs one." I got up and picked up Sawyer. I kissed Sawyers head and then set him down.

"What?!" He was 'upset'. I winked at him, walked to the kitchen for water. I picked up a glass from the counter and began walking towards the fridge. I felt a pair of hands lift me bridal style. I got scared and dropped the glass.

He was startled by the sound and stumbled onto the broken glass. He set me on the counter, before he brought himself up next to me. He held his foot. It had a piece of glass in it. "Shit." I held my head. I ran to the bathroom, grabbing the first aid kit.

Matt was holding his foot with tears rolling down his cheeks. I had rarely seen Matt cry. I never wanted to see Matt cry either. It pained me. It made me feel so bad. I was guilty. This was my fault. He was trying to wipe his tears. He wanted to hide them from me.

He held his foot towards me. I got rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball. I set it aside. I grabbed tweezers and pulled the glass out of his foot. His hand, gripped onto the counter tightly. I set the glass on the side. It was covered in blood. His cut wasn't deep. He didn't need medical care.

I made sure that I got every piece out. Afterwards, I took the cotton ball. He put one of his hands on my shoulder. I pressed the cotton ball on his cut, cleaning it. He gripped my shoulder tighter and tighter.

I then wrapped his foot in a bandage. He was still crying a little. His eyes were beginning to get red. "All done. You're okay." I almost talked to him like he was a child. He nodded. I wiped his tears, like he always did when I needed him.
