Chapter 42

*6 months pass*

Matt and I were visiting colleges for a few days. It was just a month before school was out. Matt told me that he wanted to make this summer special before we were tied down to our own colleges.

Our moms were chatting in the front while we were in the back. Matt had fallen asleep and looked so peaceful. He would occasionally let out a hushed snore, which would cause me to smile.

We were visiting colleges within Virginia for the time being. It was nice seeing how college life would be in a few more months. At the same time it was also scary. It would be like restarting your whole life.

We pulled up to Strayer University. I shook Matt awake as he groaned, refusing to get up. My mom tossed me the keys and told me that they would go ahead and catch up with us later.

"Matt, cmon." I pulled his arm trying to get him out of the car. He didn't really listen, so I got out of the car and walked over to his side of the door.

My hands reached for the handle as I pulled the door open. "Matthew, babe." I began, hoping I would find a way to reason with him.  His eyes shot open with a grin on his face as he pulled me into the car and shut the door behind him.

"Matthew!" I scolded as he grabbed the keys from my hands and stuck them down his shirt.

"You want them? Come get them?" He smirked, placing his hands behind his head and leaning his back on the seat.

"Don't get too comfortable Espinosa." I crossed my arms, getting off of his lap.

"Zoe!" He called back for me. "Cmon, just a little kiss. I promise." He rested his hand on my face, rubbing his thumb on my cheek. "Okay." I gave in mainly because he looked really nice in a snapback with his hair growing out and stuff.

He pressed his lips onto mine for bit and pulled away. "Cmon, let's go." He spoke, while getting the keys out of his shirt and handing them to me.

"You know, I'm enjoying this now. One more minute couldn't hurt." I trailed off, pulling myself onto his lap and placing my arms around the back of his neck. "Alright babygirl, what ever you say." He rested his arms around my waist.

"You know, I think its really cute when you call me babygirl." I admitted. "Really?" His eyebrows perked up, as if he didn't know I loved it.

"I love you Matt." I smiled at him, really meaning it. "I love you too Zoe." He chuckled. This was probably the third or fourth time that we had told each other that we loved each other. I didn't mind it one bit.

After touring the campus, we drove back home. I was given the chance to drive while our moms napped in the back. Matt had connected his phone to the Bluetooth and played his music. His music mainly consisted of rap and or some type of dance/dupstep songs.

He rapped along to the songs before telling me that he was hungry over and over again. I pulled over to a Burger King as Matt went in to get two burgers.

He jogged back to the car in 15 minutes and sat in the car. I backed out of the parking lot and we were back on the road. I couldn't exactly eat because I wasn't quite comfortable with driving with one hand yet.

Matt had devoured his burger and  had noticed that I had not even touched mine. "Babe, aren't you hungry?" He seemed a little worried. "I am, I just can eat due to driving." I sighed, knowing my stomach would start making noises soon.

"I'm such a great boyfriend and thought of a perfect solution." He sounded almost too cocky. "Really, what's your bright idea?" I questioned him. "I'm going to feed you the burger." He beamed with some pride.

I could seem him unwrapping the burger from the corner of my eye. He brought the burger to my face as I kept my eyes on the road and took a bite.

"Thank you Matt." I told him after swallowing my food. "Don't mention it." He brushed it off, before he let me take another bite. With this bite, I could feel some mustard smear onto my face. "Shit." I whispered, trying to get my tongue to reach the stain on my lower cheek.

My got a napkin and wiped my cheek, and after that he kissed it. "You're so cute." He smiled. I had almost forgot that our moms were in the backseat.

"Was it a good idea to let them drive?" My mom asked Matt's mom. "Mom!" Matt and I groaned at the same time, referring to our own mothers obviously. "We are just teasing you two." Matt's mom laughed a bit with my mom joining in.

"Zoe, can I sleep over at your place tonight?" Matt rested his hand on my thigh. "Matthew Lee! You better not be moving that hand up North." Mrs. Espinosa scolded, causing Matt's face to turn a rosy pink.

I bursted out into laughter before my mom began scolding me. "Zoe Elizabeth, do you want to get in trouble too?!" My mom shouted from the back, causing me to shut up. Matt tried not to laugh, knowing his mom would yell at him again.

"Yes you can sleep over." I whispered to him. "Movie night?" He asked me. "Sure, what movies?" I followed up with a question. "We could do a scary movie and then a funny one." He reasoned so we would both get what we wanted.

"I can't wait for tonight." Matt winked at me before placing his hand on my thigh again, clearly ignoring his mothers remark.
