I was at Matt's place. His older brother, was getting married, so his mom invited my mother and I to help pick out dresses. My mom and Mrs. Espinosa were chatting about the dresses, with the bride at the moment.
I sat on the couch. God knows where Matt is. I was currently excluded from the conversation, because 'I was too childish.' I was angry, mumbling to myself. I'm childish, as if.
"Zoe." I heard someone call quietly. My eyes searched for the person calling me. "Zoe." It called again. Matt. "What?" I whispered. He read my lips. He motioned for me to come to the garage.
I got up, making my way there. I knew no one would notice or mind. Once I got there, he showed me his dad's motorcycle. "Woah." I looked at it. "You've always wanted to ride one, right?" He smiled. I nodded.
We pushed the motorcycle onto the road. He got on first and I got on behind him. "Ready?" I nervously said. "No." He took my arms and wrapped them around him. "Now we are." I could see him smirk in the mirror. I held on to him tightly.
"Wait." I stopped him. "You know how to ride one, right?" I questioned him. "Eh, I'll figure it out." He shrugged. "Matt!" I slapped his arms. "My dad taught me, don't worry." He smiled.
He started the motorcycle. "Matt!" His dad yelled. "Shit." I mumbled under my breath. Matt quickly sped off. God knows how fast this bike was going. The wind was rushing through my hair, tossing it around.
Matt came to a stop after 10 minutes. "Now your turn." He smiled. "What?" My eyes widened. "Cmon." He got off the bike. I scooted forward and Matt sat behind me. I put my hand on the handles and he put his hands over mine. He started the bike.
The bike slowly moved and we were quickly swerving. I hadn't got the hang of it. I was getting frustrated. I barely had any patience. "Let's try this again." He tried to boost my confidence.
We tried again and I slowly got the hang of it. I didn't even realize when Matt's hands moved off of mine. "I'm doing it Matt!" I yelled. I could hear his faint chuckle. "Damn, you're better than me." I loudly said over the wind brushing past us.
I began to take us back to Matt's place. His dad was going to be angry with both of us. In the distance, I could see his dad waiting on the porch. I began to get very nervous. The motorcycle began swerving like the first time I had attempted to drive it. Matt's hands moved on mine and tried to control it.
He couldn't, probably because he saw his dad as well. I was wrong. I screamed, not knowing how to control this. "The breaks aren't working Zoe." Matt yelled. "What do we do?" I shouted back. Quickly the motorcycle tipped and landed on its side.
We were stuck under the motorcycle and two houses away from Matt's. I could see his dad running towards us with his brothers and sister. Matt. I turned my head to Matt. "Zoe are you okay?" His voice was shaky. "Are you?" I asked him. He nodded.
His family had arrived. Matt's dad and two brothers, Dylan and Ryan, grabbed onto the bike and pulled it up right. Matt's sister, Kristen, helped us up. Matt grabbed my hand. It had a few scratches on it. Nothing major. I looked at Matt's head, which was dripping with blood. Kristen had noticed and went to get the car.
"Matt, your head." My hands held him upright. He reached up and touched the cut, wincing. Kristen pulled up to us. I got in first. "My head is hurting a lot." Matt groaned. I sensed the pain in his voice. His dad helped him in the car. Matt laid his head on my lap.
"You're going to be okay." I tried to smile at him, but my tears were stronger. "Zoe, don't cry." His hands reached up for my face. He wiped my tears. "I'm okay. I'll need a few stitches, that's it." He held my hand tightly.
