Chapter 7: The Truth

*Weeks Later*

*Taliah's POV*

Its been weeks since Kev hit me at the club. At first i thought it was because he was drunk but it looks like that isn't the case :/ He kept hitting me last week. I'm really trying to keep this away from Lang and everybody else. If they found out about this, They'd FLIP ! And I don't even wanna kno what Essie, Vicky and Mia would do . I been wearing a lot of makeup and i have to wear sunglasses 24/7 so no one could see the bruises on my face.

But anyway, I walked to school with Mia today.

"Why you got on sunglasses? Its cloud af out here today."

"I wanna be mysterious today. Aha"

"You're truely a weirdo. Ha."

When we walked in, DayDay was waiting for her. Then Langston walked up. I quickly rushed to the bathroom hoping he wouldn't see me. When i got in there I saw Alisa and RaeRae.

"Taliah?" Alisa said looking away from the mirror.

"Why you got on sunglasses?" RaeRae said looking up from her phone.

I Dropped my lipgloss and i bend down to pick it up and my glasses fell off. I stood up and tried to cover my face and run out but it didn't work out too well.

"Taliah ! What happened?!" Alisa said grabbing my wrist.

"Nothing ! I fell." I said putting my head down.

"Bullshit. You didn't fall !" RaeRae said lifting my head and looking at my black eye. "Who did this to you?"

I just sighed as i began to cry as i told them what happened. "Kev. He hit me when we were at the club and he's been doing it alot lately." 

"Taliah, we have to tell someone." Alisa said starting for the door.

I grabbed her arm and said "No ! You Can't tell anyone. Especially any of the boys or my sister."

"We have to ! We can't let him continue hitting you" RaeRae said folding her arms.

"Please. Promise me you won't tell ANYONE." I said as my eyes started tearing up again.

They both looked at each other, sighed and said "Okay."

*Mia's POV*

I'm sitting in class with DayDay and Sierra.

"You guys," I said looking at DayDay then at Sierra. "Has Taliah been actin' funny lately to yall?"

"What you mean?" DayDay said looking at me.

"Like, she's been actin' strange. Like anti-social strange. We don't even have our little spa days in her room like we used to :/"

"Did you try talking to her?" Sierra asked me.

"Yeah. It seems like she's hiding something, but she won't tell me"

"Well the best thing to do is just give her time and wait til she tells you herself. You can't just force her to tell you." DayDay said tapping his pen on the desk.

"You're right ."

The bell rung and we went to our next period class. Hopefully this day goes by fast.

*Julian's POV*

I been chillin with Alisa for a while now, I'm thinking about asking her to be my girlfriend, but i don't wanna ask too early then get rejected, ya now. I saw walking down the hallway and i had to catch up with her.

"Alisa! Wait up"

She turned around and  smiled.

"Wassup?" I asked her.

"Nothing." She said holding her books.

"You doin' anyhting tonight?"

"No, not anything that i can think of. Why?"

"You wanna go to the movies or somethin' with me?" i asked putting my arm around her shoulder.

"Hmmmm . I'll think about it ;)" she said moving from under my arm and walking into the classroom.

She always playin' games. Aha

*Later That Day*

*Langston's POV*

I'm chillin' with the bros. The same usual thing we do. Tonight we're going to the movies. It's gonna be me, Essie, Julian, Alisa, DayDay and Mia. Taliah been M.I.A after that night we went to the club. But anyway, I'm really feeling Essie ;) We had a couple dates last week and I plan on keeping this going until i decide to make her mine. We all walked to the movies since it wasn't too far. We went and saw MIB III. It was a good movie. It wasn't what i thought it would be like but it was good. After the movie we all went to get something to eat then I walked Essie home.

"I had a lot of fun tonight." She said smiling at me.

"Me too." I said putting my hands in my pocket.

We just talked and laughed until we got to her house.

When we got to her door we said goodbye. I know this might sound corny like what happens in them romance movies nshit but before i said goodnight. Me and her kissed.

"Goodnight Langston."

"'Night"

She winked at me then went in the house. I walked back home just thinking. I kept thinking about what happened to Taliah that day and how i really fucked up. *Sigh* That's probably why she been so distant from me and everybody else. I still gotta apologize the next time i see her.  By the time i got to my block it was like 11:00. When i got closer to my house, i heard somebody crying. when i got to Taliah's house, she was sitting on the lawn but when she saw me coming she got up and tried to go in the house.

"Wait !" i sort of yelled.

She stopped in her tracks and never turned around to face me.

"What's wrong with you?" i said walking over to her.

She mumbled and just said "Nothing."

"C'mon now. It's never "nothing" if a girl's crying."

She turned around and just put her head down.

"Why you been actin' like this? You act like you don't ever wanna be around me, your friends, and even your own family." I said staring her down.

She started sniffling then she finally looked up at me. She had cuts and bruises all over her arms and face, a bloody lip and a black eye. When she looked up at me, i just felt hurt my own damn self.

"Who did this to you?" I asked.

"Nobody, I fell."

"What?"

"I Fell !"

"Fell My ASS ! Who the fuck did this to you !?" I said getting angry and grabbing her arms and pulling her towards me.

By that time, she started crying more and she turned her head so she won't look at me.

"Taliah ! Tell Me ! Who did this !? And I Want The TRUTH."

"Kev ! Okay ! Kev Beats Me ! Are you happy now !?"

She got out of my grip and sat down on the lawn and burried her face into her knees. I helped her up and hugged her tight, letting her cry on my chest. I stood there hugging her &still dumbfounded over what she just said. Kev? Out of all people? He supposed to be one of my best friends. I mean i know he known for playing girls, but hitting them? what the hell ! That shit is not cool. And Taliah though ! He knows how i feel about her and he would be some shit like that !? No, this is gonna end, NOW. I'm not gonna let him keep putting his hands on her. I felt all the blood rushing to my head and my adrenaline rising. I don't care what i gotta do, best friend or not, this nigga is gonna pay. BIG TIME.
