Chapter 15 : First Date

*Taliah's POV*

I decided to walk from Essie &Vicky's house. I needed the exercise anyway. I put my earphones in and was zoned out the entire walk to my house. I got in front of my house and searched in my bag for my keys.

"Fuck ." I said continuing to search "where the hell are my keys!?" I grunted and put my bag down on the ground and bent down to look for my keys. Then i felt someone's hand on my butt.

"What the.." I said grabbing my keys and immediately stopped and stood up straight to see Langston smiling at me. "Did i not just see you earlier, kid?"

"First off, you not gonna keep callin' me kid when i'm older than you &yeah." He said wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me in closer.

I bit my lip and looked at him trying to tease. He leaned down and tried to kiss me but i playfully pushed him and picked up my bag and walked towards my door.

"You always playin' games yo !" He yelled at me from the front lawn.

"I know !" I said yelling over my shoulder then turning around and winking at him.

"Dont forget about tonight!"

"I won't !" I shouted before opening the door to my house

"honey i'm home !" I waited for somebody to answer me but nobody did . "Guess nobody's home.."

I went upstairs to my room and dropped all my stuff, took a shower then laid down and eventually fell asleep.

I was walking down the street by myself from school and I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and the footsteps miraculously stopped.

"Langston?" I waited to hear his voice and see him run towards me, but I was sadly disappointed.

I continued to walk on, and hearing the footsteps again. I turned around again and there still wasn't anybody there. I picked up the pace, almost running down the street. I STILL heard the footsteps. I then started running and it sounded like they were getting closer. I turned the corner fast as i could and i didn't hear the footsteps anymore. I stopped to catch my breath. As soon as i began walking again, i felt someone's arm go across my neck and they pulled me into an open alley-way. I struggle to get out of their grip.

"HELP ! HELP ! HE-" They covered my mouth as I attempted to cry for help. I bit their hand and tried to run out of the alleyway but I was stopped by a suspicious person standing in front of they alley. I stood there, stuck. I turned around to a hard slap across my face causing me to fall to the ground.

As I tried to get up with the taste of blood in my mouth, i felt another blow, but this time in my stomach. I held it in pain, still trying to get up. I managed to crawl over to the wall, using it as support. I looked up to see who this horrible person was that was hurting me. I was dizzy, everything was blurry, and I heard two muffled voices talking.

"Give It To Me."

As my vision cleared, I realized who it was.. Kevin. I looked up at him with a fear that I've never felt in my life as he gave me a devilish smile. I felt my eyes watering. As I still tried to get up off of the ground, I heard the sound of a gun being loaded. When I finally got up, I felt my legs give out as the other person kicked me hard on my calves. I landed on my hands and knees, still the feeling the pain from the previous blows. I couldn't hold myself up any longer. I felt flat with the side of my face facing the wall. I heard the trigger of the gun being played with. I looked down the alley, seeing Langston standing there. I felt tears roll out my eyes.

BAM!

I closed my eyes as i felt the bullet penetrate the side of my head. I felt another shot, but this time on my back. I felt it. I felt a pool of blood form around me as I struggled to breath. I slowly opened my eyes, barely keeping them open and seeing Langston standing at the ending of the alley.

"Taliah .. Taliahhhh..Taliah.." I heard him calling

His voice started getting deeper as i felt my eyes slowly closing. I opened them once more, holding on for my life. I tried to call his name, but I failed. I saw a bright light as my eyes rolled to back of my head.

I woke up gasping for my life. As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw my dad standing over me with a confused face. I immediately jumped up and hugged him tightly. That dream felt .. it felt so real. I felt tears running down my cheek as I held my dad tightly in my arms.

He started hugging me back tight and said. "I'm sorry"

I hugged him even tighter as I cried.

*Langston's POV*

I was ready for this date tonight. I mean I wasn't dressed up nshit, but I looked good. Aha, I walked downstairs and my mom &Madison was sittin' in the living room watching TV. I tried to leave quick. I was already late. Like who you know that would be late to pick up his date who lives directly next door. I opened the door and tried to leave but they heard me.

"Ayo little nigga, come here." Mad said poking his head turning around on the couch.

I sighed and walked into the living room and sat on the couch too, 'cause I already knew this might be a while.

"Where you goin'?" My mom asked me.

"On a date." I said back

"WHAT!? Who goin' out with bro?"

"Taliah?" My mom said smiling at me.

"Yeah." I said smiling a little.

"Oh word? The girl that was here earlier" Mad asked me. I just shook my head yes.

"Awww shit. I see you." He said getting up from off the couch and giving me a quick handshake before walking in the kitchen.

I shook my head and laughed at him.

"I gotta get goin' though." I said standing up and fixing my shirt. "Oh yeah. Can i borrow the car?"

"Alright. Be safe.. &Go ahead.. Don't get in no accidents !" she said I walked towards the door.

After that I grabbed then walked out the door and went over to Taliah's house. I rung the doorbell and Mia answered.

"Ayeeee !" She said throwing her hands up.

"Aha. Wassup cripple?" i said turning her smile to a frown. LOL.

"Aww, don't look too sad." I said laughing. "Can I come in though?"

"Yeah."

I walked in the living room and heard her mom yell from the kitchen.

"Who was it?" She walked in wiping her hands with a rag. "Oh hi Langston."

"Hello."

"What you doin' here?"

"I'm waiting for Taliah."

"Ohh. Well I'm sure she'll be down in a minute." she said walking back into the kitchen.

Me and Mia were talking in the living room while I waited for Taliah to come downstairs.

"So when yall next show? I wanna goooo."

"Uhh.. It's one next week."

"Okay good. I was mad as hell that I couldn't go to the one from the other day."

"Aha. It was turnt."

We both paused as we heard somebody coming down the steps. I turned my head to see their dad walking down with Taliah following him. I got up off the couch and walked up to them.

"Dad, Langston . Langston, Dad" Taliah said smiling. She looked beautiful when she had her hair down. She normally had it in ponytails and shit. I smiled back at her and put my hand out to give her dad a handshake. He nodded at me and gave the handshake.

"Take good care of my daughter tonight.. Well not too much, but you get what I mean."

"Yeah. Aha. I get what you sayin'"

"Okay, Dad. I'll be back later." Taliah said grabbing my hand and leading me to the door.

"Well bye to you too ! RUDENESS"

"Bye Mia !" She Yelled As we walked through the door having her dad close it behind us.



"Wait. Wait. Mmm." I said stopping to spin her around to get a good look at her. "You look good"

"Yeah. I Know." She said winking at me.

"Wow." I chuckled a bit before leading her to the car. "C'mon"

We both hopped in the car and I started driving.

"So where we goin'?" she asked me.

"The studio."

"For a date?"

"Yeah! What's wrong with that?"

"Nothing. It's just.. different" she said gently smiling at me.

I looked at her and smiled back as we came to a red light.

"Aye, I want you to listen to this." I said playing a CD with a few of our recently recorded songs

I looked over to see her reaction. she was dancing to the music

"What you think?" i asked her.

"I like it" she said blushing.

"Good" i said smiling at her.

*A Few Minutes Later*

I got out the car and opened the door for Taliah. I grabbed her hand and led her into the studio while we walked in. We ordered some food and sat on the leather couch for like an hour talking and laughin while we waited for the food to get here.

"So like, how does it feel to have all those fans that love you so much?" She sitting on my lap and laying her head on my chest and looking up at me.

"I mean, it's like the best feeling in the world to me. I would've never imagined myself being this young and having a bunch of fans." i said relaxing playing in her hair. "But is this your real hair?"

"Did you really just ask me that?" She said sitting up.

"Yeah! It don't look like weave, but it's real long. You know it's not that many girls with long hair like that."

"Cute .. Real Cute .. You not funny!" she said trying to get up.

"Noooooooo." I groaned as i made the puppy dog face.

I pulled her back on my lap and held down her arms.

"Langston." She said laughing. "Let me go."

"Nope." I Said letting go one of her arms and tickling her.

She started squirming and laughing and fell over to the side. I leaned over on her and continued to tickle her, making her laugh harder.

"Oh my god! Stoppppp" she managed to say between laughs.

"And what you gonn' do it i don't?"

"We - We gonna fight" she said still laughing.

I started laughing at how she was laughing. it was too funny. We were both laying there laughing then Gabi came in.

"Hey , your - oops my bad . aha" she said walking back out.

"Wait ! Gabi come back." I said sitting up a little bit. "What did you say?"

"I was gonna say that your food here, but i can see you're busy. mmhmm."

"Can you get off me?" Taliah said trying to sit up.

"Nope." I said leaning back on her.

"Aha. Yall too cute." Gabi said. "Yall food out in the kitchen."

"iight. Thanks" I said trying to keep Taliah from moving.

She pushed me off hard as hell then ran out the room. Did she just gain hulk type strength or some shit?

"Ayo! Come here!" I said getting up and running after her. I caught her then just put my arm round her waist and walked with her to the kitchen.

We ordered Chinese food and we sat in the kitchen and ate it. She got real quiet when we ate.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked.

She didn't answer, she just played with what was left of her food.

"Hellooooo" I said waving my hand in front of her face.

"Huh?" She said snapping back into it.

"I said whats wrong with you?"

"Oh, nothing. Just thinking."

"About .."

"This dream.. well nightmare i had earlier."

"Oh yeah?" I said grabbing the empty food containers off the table and throwing them in the trash. "What happened?"

She got up from the table and sighed.

"umm.." she said looking down shyly.

"You don't gotta tell me if you don't want to." i said walking over to her and putting my hand on her chin to lift her head to look at me. "You can tell me anything, you know that right?"

I looked deep into her eyes as smiled and shook her head "yes".

After that, we walked back into the room we were in before. She sat on the couch and I headed for the booth. She looked up at me and signalled for her to come in the booth with me. I put my arm around her waist and pulled her in closer as i leaned against the wall.

"Why you so shy tonight?"

"Ehhh . I don't know." she said wrapping her around my neck.

"Loosen up , girl." I said moving my hand closer down to her butt. "Anybody ever tell you that you look like a performer"

"What you mean?" she said smiling shyly.

"Like a singer, or a dancer or something. You look more like a singer to me."

"I don't know about all that. Aha. I mean i use to sing back when I was like 12, but i'm probably a little rusty"

"I think I'll be the judge of that." I said looking down at her.

She turned her head when we made eye contact.

"Noooo." she groaned as she tried to get out of my grib.

"Stop, come here." I said holding her tighter. "I wanna hear you sing."

"Nope ! Not gonna happen, kid."

"I thought we been through this 'kid' stuff." I said rocking side to side as she still tried to get away. "I'm not letting you go til' you sing for me."

"C'monnnn" She said still trying to get away.

"Naw." I said biting my lip. "sing for me.. pleaseeee."

"Okay! Only because it'll shut you up" She said laughing as I loosened my grip from around her waist.

"Damn Girl" I said smiling. "Why you keepin all that talent in hiding?"

"I don't know" she said smiling shyly. "I was a little rusty though."

She looked down at the ground as she blushed and I couldn't help but laugh. It was too cute. I walked out the booth and turned on the mic. She looked real surprised when she saw me turn it on.

"Put on the headphones" I said into the mic under the window to the booth and looking at her as she shook her head no. "C'mon. Just sing something real quick."

She hesitated, but she put the head phones and sung the first verse and chorus to Speechless by Beyonce. I played it for her so she could hear it. She recorded background vocal and tried to harmonize with all the other parts she recorded already.

"Can I come out now?" She said putting her hand on her hip. "I wanna hear it."

"Yeah, come here." I said before she took the headphones off and walked out the booth. "You sure you never recorded a song before?"

"Aha Yeah I'm sure."

I played the entire thing for both me and her to hear. It sounded dope as hell. This girl was really talented, but she been hiding this talent for too long. I put it on a CD for her to take and I made one that she didn't know about that i planned to play for Nick. I wanted him to hear this. I mean, he said he was looking for more new undiscovered talent. Taliah was perfect for it. I think she could get a deal on NCredible. I stood up and handed her the CD.

"Wait." She said grabbing at my hand and smiling. "Play it again. I can't believe that I actually aound like that."

She then stood up to give me a hug. She stood on her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around my neck and I leaned down and hugged her back. We both released slowly from the hug and looked into each other's eyes. I leaned down again and kissed her. She deepened the kiss and we started moving. We fell on the couch. I laid on top of her still kissing without stopping for air. I don't know how long we were kissing, but it felt way longer than it actually was. We finally stopped and we both gasped for air. We both sat up and she started laughing .

"What?"

"Nice lipgloss." She said wiping some of the smeared lipgloss off of her face.

I laughed as i quickly wiped the lipgloss off my face. I took out my phone because it started ringing. I looked at who was calling and it was Bri. I sighed and hit the end button. I don't have any time for her bullshit.

"Whats wrong?"

"Nothin." I said still looking at my phone. "C'mon. It's almost 11:30 . I don't want your dad to beat my ass."

"Aha. okay. let's go."

We both got our stuff and left the studio. We hopped in the car and was on our way back home. The ride back was kind've quiet. she was on her phone most of the time. After a few minutes of driving, we got back and I walked her to her door.

"I had fun tonight" she said biting her lip.

"I did too."

She laughed a little and swayed from side to side.

"You always laughing. Aha. It's cute though."

"Goodnight Lang." She said blushing real hard.

"Goodnight." I said before leaning down to give her a quick peck before she went in the house.

I walked back to my house and i got this weird feeling in my stomach. Shit. I'm gettin butterflies just thinking about the future, that I plan to have her in. I don't think I ever fell for a girl this fast. Ever.
