Your heart sank. That scowl was instantly recognizable, who knew a newborn could make such a face? The nurse removed her tiny pink beanie revealing a full head of thick black curls. Kid's fingers slipped between yours giving your palm a light squeeze before releasing the breath he'd been holding.

"I suppose Trafalgar will be a little disappointed." He murmured.
"Only in himself." You replied watching the nurse place the baby back in her bed, "She is beautiful though."

When you turned he was already watching you with a thoughtful but relieved expression.

"What?"
"Just...I'm sorry for all the stress this caused you." He replied rubbing circles on your knuckles with his thumb.
"It's fine. It was much more taxing on you I'm sure." You leaned into the redhead's chest, "Ready to go?"
"Very." He tossed you a lopsided smile before guiding you down the hall.

Me: Have you set up your paternity test?

Law: When I'm off this 24 hour shift I'll stop by for it.

Me: Have you been to see her?

Law: Not my jurisdiction

Me: Are you afraid?

Law: No. I just haven't had time.

Me: I can go with you.

Law: I'll let you know.

"He hasn't gone yet huh?" Your boyfriend asked leaning over you on the sofa.
"I'm pretty sure he's too scared." You replied pecking his cheek.
"And you haven't told him we've seen her?" He stepped over the back of the couch sliding down next to you.
"I think it's better he find out on his own. Besides we don't know a hundred percent that he's the father 'til he takes the test right?"

Kid spared you and incredulous glance, "Whatever you say mouse. At least we know in four days my results will come back negative and that bitch will leave me alone."

You shifted cringing a bit at his reference to Perona. It wasn't that you didn't agree... just hearing your boyfriend so casually call a woman a bitch bothered you, regardless of who the bitch was.

"What?" He crossed his arms, "She is."
"I know tomato." You cooed mockingly crawling into his lap.
"Don't call me that." He huffed while you squished his face between your hands.
"Why? You're my adorable, squishy, broody tomato." You playfully planted feathery kisses all over his face as he grimaced and flushed.

He would have murdered anyone else for calling him that god awful nickname, but he secretly enjoyed your teasing.

You yelped as he pushed you back into the sofa, looming over you while he pinned your arms at your sides. He growled nipping his way up your throat and over your jaw while you continued to giggle and sometimes moan, 'tomato'. Stopping at your chin he chuckled at your squirmy flustered reaction.

"I love you." He blurted gazing at you affectionately.

These were words neither of you had said before. Kid wasn't much for saying how he felt, he'd much rather show you. And even then he wasn't usually affectionate in public, which you appreciated more than you thought you would, it was a whole side of him no one else got to see.
