It’s been three days since I have received my task and I still have yet been able to wrap my mind around the fact that the council wants me to abduct the two remaining daughters of the pharoh and hold them for ransom.
Ever since I received my task both Dakarai and Jamila have had me training nonstop. I don’t even remember training this hard when I was given my task to become a master. Honestly I don’t know whats going on with those two I mean I get that this task is ten times harder then my task to become a master but still. I think they are honestly trying to kill me this time. And it also seems like they know more about my task then they are letting on.
Dakarai has been acting strange to. It’s not just with the whole task and council business. I think it has something to do with the task that my friend Aziza was sent on to lead. From the rumors I heard something went wrong. But I won’t know for sure until Aziza gets back. I still have to show her the jewelry.
I haven’t taken them off ever since I put them on when Dakarai gave them back to me. I don’t know how to explain it, but it just feels right wearing them. It feels like apart of me that I didn’t even know about has been returned to me. Another reason why I haven’t taken them of is because I know that as soon as I do and put them down one of the other thieves will take them. I will be the day when I let Ammit devour my heart and prevent me from entering the afterlife that I let that happen.
But enough about the jewelry I have to focus of the task at hand. After all the beginning of the task is in less then four days.
I must have been day dreaming again because I didn’t hear Aziza enter the room.
“Hello? Amunet are you even paying attention? You know what fine don’t give your best friend, who has been away on a dangerous task, a hug. That's just fine.”
When I realized that it was Aziza. I gave her a huge to shut her up.
Aziza is my best friend and partner in everything. If I was allowed to have a partner for the task I would ask her in less then a heart beat.
“Aziza! When did you get back?”
“Not that long ago. After I reported to Dakarai he told me to go visit you. Considering you are going to be leaving in a few days. I take it that the task you are been sent on is the dreaded task to determined if you are worthy or not?”
“Yup.”
“Well. Out with it. What do you have to do?”
“Aziza. You know I can’t talk about it.”
“Aw. Come on Amunet.”
“No Aziza.”
“Fine. Be that way. Just tell me this. How hard is the task?”
“Extremely. That’s all I’m telling you.”
“Oh your no fun.”
“I know. Speaking of assignments how was yours. I mean, its been over a month and there were rumors going around the tribe that something went wrong so out with it.”
