BUCKY'S POV
Once I woke up again, I headed straight towards the main area of the plane, determined to figure out why the hell Sarah wasn't with us. There was no acceptable reason for her to still be missing. I got myself shot, which fucking hurt like hell, and they couldn't even look for her?
I stalked into the main area, finding everyone standing around a table. When I walked in the talking stopped, and all heads turned towards me.
"Hey, Buck." Steve said. I walked closer and reluctantly took a spot next to Steve, standing at the table.
"The Winter Soldier." The African American man said, glancing at me with a smirk. I couldn't tell what he was thinking because his eyes were hidden behind his sun glasses.
"I'm not the Winter Soldier. My name is Bucky." I growled.
"Well, you were the Winter Soldier when you shot me." The man retorted, making me frown. I looked down and bit my lip, thinking. I vaguely remembered following him and blowing up his car, I think.
"I'm sorry for anything I did when they were controlling me. It wasn't my fault." I said honestly.
"I believe you." He replied, walking around the table and stopping just before he got to me. He took off his sunglasses, and I now knew why he wore them. He had a terribly injured eye.
"Bucky, have you ever heard of the Avengers?" He asked, and I shook my head no.
"My name is Nick Fury, and I started the Avengers initiative. The Avengers are a group of extraordinary and powerful people, that we gathered to help defend the world from any and all challenges. Steve, Natasha and Tony are all part of the Avengers." The man, Fury, explained. I nodded, casting a glance at Steve, who gave a smile in return. I turned back to Fury.
"What does this have to do with me?" I asked gruffly, and he put his glasses back on.
"Well, we want you to be part of that group." He replied.
I frowned, and looked at him to see if he was joking or something, but he didn't appear to be.
"Why? I almost killed you, and I've killed hundreds of others. I'm not exactly a good person." I muttered, narrowing my eyes and growing skeptical. He simply shook his head and began pacing.
"See, I don't believe that. I know you are a good person, because otherwise you wouldn't care that Sarah was gone. You wouldn't have fought against Hydra. You wouldn't have followed Steve. There is good in you, Bucky, and we need help defending our world right now. Will you help us? Will you join the Avengers?"
He stopped pacing and looked at me, as I considered my options. If I say yes, I'm once again under someone's control. I'm following orders again. But if I say no, I'm alone on the streets, with no resources to help me find Sarah. And everything I do from now until we find her, will be for Sarah. So I made my decision.
"Yeah. I'll help." I said.
Steve and Natasha smiled, and Tony nodded, seemingly uninterested in the conversation. Cara and Valerie were standing off to the side, not knowing what to do, and Valerie was still looking at me. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what she was thinking- her eyes held no emotion. I was quickly becoming irritated with her.
"Great. Now, I would like you to meet another new recruit." Fury announced, directing my attention towards the corner of the room, where the young guy from earlier was sitting. The guy walked up to us and stuck his hand out for me to shake. I paused for a moment, having to recall how to shake a hand, and then I shook it. He cracked a grin.
"My name is Peter Parker, otherwise known as Spider-Man." He said.

SARAH'S POV
They strapped me onto a different table this time, under a giant machine that was surrounded by needles.
I couldn't get the antiseptic smell out of my nose.
By my count, it had been four days since I was taken, and each day brought on new horrors. The first day, I wasn't conscious long enough to grasp my surroundings. The second day was when I woke up covered in frost, and the man said I was going to end the world with ice. Yesterday, they injected something into me that was insanely cold, and I was in excruciating pain for several hours. And today? Who knew what was to come.
The only reason I didn't give up hope was because I knew Bucky was looking for me. And I didn't try to die, because I couldn't do that to him. We needed each other.
They began pumping more things into my blood, and I closed my eyes, thinking about the taste of Bucky's lips.
It seemed like hours until they finished, and by the end of it I was in a lot of pain. Whatever they put into me made me feel like my insides were about to come outside.
Eventually I opened my eyes, and the same man that had spoken to me on day two was standing beside me. He smiled at me evilly, and I immediately knew I didn't want to be anywhere near him right now, but I couldn't get away.
"Do you know what we put into you?" He asked. I glanced up at him and noticed the pain in my stomach was subsiding.
"No." I croaked. My throat hurt when I talked, and he chuckled.
"We added a chemical into your blood that allows you to heal in minutes." He told me, no emotion in his eyes or voice. I didn't say anything.
Then all of the sudden, he took my fragile wrist in his paws and snapped it in half. I screamed, tears welling up in my eyes as the pain intensified with every second. I glared at him, and saw the wide smile on his sick face. That son of a bitch.
A few minutes later, though, the pain was subsiding quickly. I wiped the tears from my eyes with my good hand and looked at the broken one, astonished when I saw the bones physically shifting back into place. My frown deepened as I watched it shift until the pain was gone.
I just healed myself.
