*Bucky's POV*

"Ready to land!" Fury called out, as we drifted closer to the ground. The base Sarah was at was fairly close, and I made sure I still had all my weapons, because we would get the base very quickly.

Steve, Natasha, Cara, Valerie and I all stood in the main living space, preparing to leave. Tony and Peter then walked in, followed by Fury.

"Alright, everyone knows the plan, correct?" Fury asked, and we all nodded. "Good. As a recap, Bucky and Peter are going to go find Sarah. The rest of you will hold off Hydra, locate information, and try and get any innocents out. The main priority is to get Sarah out safely, and then you can worry about everything else."

I nodded, turning to face Peter, who have me a crooked grin as we waited for the landing platform to open. The others stood behind us.

Fury clicked the button, and the platform came down to the ground. Fury gave the nod, and we were off to find Sarah.

I led the way with Steve and Peter, and we trudged through the underbrush, away from the plane. The platform closed behind us and the plane rose, flying to a safer, farther location, but still close enough to still get us out. We pushed through the woods with Tony telling us which direction the base was, and soon enough, we were there.

There were agents swirling about, buzzing busily around in endless circles. Delivering papers to people, carrying supplies, wheeling hospital beds, transporting mutants. Each had a gruesome job. I wondered if they realized that they were helping to destroy the world. The entrance to the base sat directly in front of us, and was marked by huge double doors that didn't appear as if they ever closed, with the amount of people streaming in and out. There was a ring of guards standing loosely around the building, each guard about twenty feet from the next guard. They held large guns.

Steve caught a glance, and then we followed him around the building, looking for more ways in. We found two doors on the left side of the building, but they also had lots of people swirling in and out of them. I saw Steve and Natasha frown beside me, and I let my gaze wonder up the tall building. Suddenly I spotted a fire escape at the top, with a balcony and stairs leading to the ground. I immediately knew that was the best way to go.

"Look, there's a fire escape on the edge of the building. That's the best way to go." I said, and received a few nods. Cara glanced at me, her fists clenched by her sides, looking ready.

"I can use my powers to fling the guards into the air, buying you guys some time. But I'm gonna need some help keeping them away." She said. Steve held his shield up, eyeing the building.

"Bucky and Peter, get ready. Cara, start making them fly." He ordered.

Me and Peter stood at the edge of the bushes, and waited as Cara gathered the strength. Her eyes began to turn bright blue, and she pushed her hands outward, sending the guards flying into the building. They hit the wall with a sickening crunch as me and Peter sprinted as fast as we could over to the fire escape.

Once we got to the escape, I began taking the steps five at a time, and Peter used his webs to scale the building quickly. We were up to the top door in no time. The door wasn't locked, and Peter held it open for me as we slipped through silently.

We stepped into a dim hallway, and there was no one else in here. The hallway was lined with different rooms. I glanced at Peter, and he shrugged.

So I stepped forward, clutching one of my knives, and opened the door. Inside the room was a single hospital bed with an IV, but the bed was empty. I closed the door and went to the next room, easing the handle open. Peter glanced in and then went in all the way. I looked in to watch him punch a doctor, who had been taking notes on the patient that was lying on the table. Peter turned towards me and we left the room, moving on to the next.

We searched each room on this floor, knocking people out and telling mutants to escape while they can. Once we searched that floor, we moved on the one below. This floor also held patients, but instead of being in rooms, they were only separated by curtains. There was a large round desk in the middle of the floor, and there were several agents sitting there, on computers or doing paperwork. Peter used his webs to pull the doctors from the desk, dragging them to me to punch.

Once we knocked them out we went around the room, telling any conscious victims how to escape, before heading down another flight of stairs.

This floor was a mixture of both the floors above us, with some rooms and some curtained-off areas. I searched through the curtain areas, taking out agents, and alerting the mutants, just like before. But I didn't find any clues as to where Sarah was. I punched the desk, hard. Where was she?

Peter suddenly called me over frantically from one of the rooms, shouting 'Sarah'. I looked up, my eyes widening, and my feet moved before my brain could process what he said. I sprinted to the room I heard his voice in.

Is she ok? Where is she? What's wrong?

I was breathing heavily when I made it to the room, my thoughts a jumbled mess, with only one name on my lips.

Sarah.

She was here.

I laid eyes on my beautiful Sarah for the first time in two weeks, but there was something wrong.

She looked like she was terrified of me.

*Sarah's POV*

Three hours before

"Bucky. He did this to you!" The man screamed, once again throwing me into the water. I held my breath and thrashed about, desperately trying to escape their grasp. They brought me up again for a second of air, and I gulped it in deeply, filling my lungs with sweet oxygen.

"Bucky did this to you!" They shouted. The words rang in my head, a million letters vibrating off of my skull.

But Bucky loved me, didn't he?

I was once again plunged into the freezing cold water, forced to hold my breath again for what felt like the millionth time. My mind and vision became a blur.

"Bucky did this to you!" I heard someone shout, and I struggled to figure out where the voice was coming from. I couldn't see, I couldn't think, I couldn't breath.

Did Bucky thrust this fate upon me? Is he the reason I can't breathe?

I was dropped into the water again and again and again. If you could shed tears underwater, then I certainly did. I couldn't remember anything.

Except that Bucky did this to me.
