Jay x Zane

~°•~°•~

Lloyd punched Zane square in the jaw, knocking the blonde to the ground. Kai kicked him in the stomach, while Cole hurled huge rocks at him. Zane whimpered and lay still on the ground. He had many bruises all over his body, and the ached. It was like boulders being laid down onto him, crushing him. And to think all of this was about a battle Zane had made a mistake on. He apologized many times along the way home, but nobody had said a thing. Nobody even looked his way.

Not even Jay.

He wasn't in the band of guys abusing him, not was he in his room, as far as anyone knew. No one knows where he had stalked off to, and Zane wanted him here, by his side, protecting him.

"Alright, guys," Lloyd said. He gave Zane a good hard kick in the robotic ribs, hard enough to either break them, or at least bruise them. Lucky for Zane, it was only a bruise. Zane bit his lip and suppressed a whimper. "Let's save some for tomorrow." The guys looked at the Ice Master dangerously before stalking off to do their thing.

As he heard the last door click shut, Zane struggled to sit up. Pain blasted through his entire body, and a choked sob escaped his lips. Tears rolled down his cheeks, and he didn't bother wiping them away. And Jay still wasn't back from whatever he was doing.

After a short while of sitting in the living room, Zane pushed himself to his feet. His whole metallic body throbbed with every step he took. He passed Jay's door, so he decided to knock. Surprisingly, the door swung open, and Jay stood in the doorway, fully clothed. Zane knew his face was covered with bruises, and he could still taste blood from yesterday's beating. Jay's eyes began to produce tears.

He had no idea why, but the blonde began to yell out and sob. He covered his hand with his mouth, but all the abusers came out, furious. Their eyes burned a hole in Zane's heart, giving him more tears to let fall on the floor.

"Shut up, you wimp!" Kai shouted. "Or we can give you even more bruises!" Zane jumped back into Jay's arms. He sank in, pouring all his tears into the brunette's chest.

"Hey!" Jay growled. "What's the matter with you all? Abusing Zane because of a small mistake? That's no way to treat your brother!" Zane almost flinched away; he had never heard Jay this serious.

Cole wrinkled his forehead, making his eyes close to slits. "We can deal with our own problems, orphan!" He sneered. Jay held his brown lava gaze without flinching, but Zane knew that that comment had gotten to him. Even with his other two parents, both Jay's real father and mother died.

"Orphans are stronger than most humans, you...you B****!" Jay was angrier than anyone had ever seen. He's never cursed, and was the only one on the team who had never said a foul word. "We've gone through true pain, unlike you HATEFUL people!" His voice lowered to a growl filled with poison.

Cole's brown eyes shined with hatred, but he held his tongue. He went back into his room and slammed his door. One by one, the others went back and slammed their doors.

Jay gently pushed the pained ninja out and away from his stomach when the last door closed. He looked in his gentle, tear-filled, robotic blue eyes, and wiped away his tears. Zane looked up at the Lightning Master as a tear fell, landing on his face.

Jay pulled the nindroid into a hug, letting his tears deep into his shirt. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there to protect you," he whimpered. "I'm so sorry." He let go and looked down at Zane. He was almost only a blog of color through his tears.

"I promise I will protect you. No one will hurt you for the rest of the day. Not later, not now, not ever."
