"Stefan?" Beth wiped her tears as she turned around to face the vampire. "What are you doing here?"

"I need your help with something," he said as a smirk appeared on his face.

~~~
Beth awoke slowly and felt a wetness on her forehead. She slowly reached for the top of her head and felt liquid transfer onto her fingers.
When the crimson red liquid had stained her fingertips, she finally looked up to examine her surroundings.
She was alone inside a car and as the memories of how she had gotten there resurfaced, she reached for the handle and opened the door. She began to go as fast as she could to get away from the scene but the faster she went, the dizzier she got. And before she could get far, Stefan sped out of the woods forcibly holding Elena.
"Stefan! Let go of me!" She yelled but he simply ignored her complaints and smirked at the strawberry blonde.
She looked lost and confused as the blood continued to drip from her forehead. He felt guilt deep within him about what he had done but he hid it all with a cold stare and devilish smirk.
"Now, where do you think you're going?" He taunted as he grabbed Beth and dragged both girls into the car with ease.
Elena who had been shoved into the front seat continued to yell at the vampire but Beth continued trying to regain her strength silently.
"What are you doing, Stefan?" Elena questioned as the vampire drove aimlessly before Damon's name appeared on her phones screen.
Before Elena could reach for it, Stefan grabbed it and answered the call, "Hello, Damon. She's a little busy right now."
"Why the hell do you have Elena's phone?"
"I'm making my next move. Let me ask you something... what will Klaus do if he can't make anymore hybrids..."
"What?" Elena breathed out.
"Or without the only ray of light he has in his miserable dark existence?"
"Wait a minute, Stefan. You have Beth with you?"
"That's right."
"Stefan leave them out of this," Damon demanded.
But with a smirk on his chiseled face, the younger Salvatore simply roll down the window and threw the device onto the road.
"What are you doing? Stefan, let me out of this car. Do you hear me? Let me out of the car!" Elena yelled.
Stefan just continued to stare blankly at the road without so much glancing at the doppelganger.
"Don't do this, Stefan. This isn't you," Beth finally spoke turning to look at the vampire. Her eyes which were usually bright and excited now looked dull, tired, and lost.
The vampire hid his guilt with an amused chuckle, "You don't know me as well as you think."
"You're wrong and you know it. But if you want to lie to yourself, go ahead. It won't last long."
