A Hard Life: Ch. 12

I stared into his grass green eyes. Of course I knew he was in Dauntless, so why did I forget?

"Well hey," he smiled at me.

I smiled back. "It's nice to know there'll be someone here that I know."

"Yep. What's your name?"

"You already know my name."

"Yeah, but this is a new place. You can start a new life with a new name. What would it be?" he leans down so I don't have to look up.

"I want my name to be..." I had to think. A new life, a new place, a new name. I'll be reformed here. I grin as I say my answer, "Kenzie. Kenzie Blossom."

Kane turns and shouts, "First jumper, Kenzie!"

I hear claps then a scream. I see Jasmin hit the net, Kane and I help her off.

"That was crazy! Fun, but crazy!" she exclaims. I could see excitement in her eyes and I laugh.

Others fall down and I heard that someone had to push Krisy off the ledge. I'll have to find them and thank them.

I lean over to Jasmin and say, "By the way, call me Kenzie from now on."

She smiles. "That's a nice name."

"Thanks." When the last initiate falls, the members leave except for two. I guess they're gonna take us on a tour. For some reason, true happiness blossoms inside of me knowing that Kane is one of our trainers.

A/N: Short chapter, I know. It's because I'm adding some of my friends in here but I want their permission first so I have to ask them. Also, I'll be able to write longer chapters since tomorrow is the last day if school for me! Yay!
