"Time to die." I growled, sneering at the disgusting figure in front of me.

I wasted no time in pulling the stiff trigger on the gun. I was so used to the force that it gave, I no longer felt my body stumble backwards.

The bullet shot out of the barrel and flew straight into the chest of the man I have been trying to track down for the past three weeks. He was one of the bad ones.

I watch as the sickly substance oozed out of his chest, rouge drips of the dark red blood splat onto the floor, creating an awaiting puddle. Great more mess I would need to clean up, I thought sarcastically.

The masculine body slumped to the floor, straight into the mess he had spilled himself. I heard a faint grunt and gasp as he took his last remaining breath of life. A few drops of the disgusting substance were sent flying onto my face. How lovely. I glared ferociously at the dead body that was lying on the ground , completely and utterly disgusted.

I quickly turned, not wanting to look anymore, I proceeded to get out my phone from my thick boots-compulsory to wear on the job and pressed dial, I heard the ringing sound piercing from the phone to my ears.

"Yes?" I heard a voice say after I heard the click of him accepting the important call.

"It's done" was all I said before I abruptly hung up.

-----------------------

Most normal teens would go to school and then come to an average family where they would ask how your day was, if you had any homework or what the latest gossip was going around.

Does that make me normal or just extremely different?

I have no idea...

My name is Maria Kingshot; I work for the specialist Secret Intelligence Service. I work undercover to help solve dangerous crimes and save lives and of course deal with all the paperwork that comes with it. I know what you're thinking, a 17 year old girl being able to pull of this off? My parents met when they worked together as agents 20 years ago. They decided not to pursue the career any further after me as they wanted to be sure they would still be alive throughout my childhood, sad I know, but it was their way of thinking. It wasn't until I was 15 they decided to go back to work and they wanted me to join the both of them. To say I was shocked and bewildered was an extreme understatement.

2 years before:

''Honey, me and your dad would like to tell you something'' my mum spoke, wearing a soft expression. It was not unusual for us to have little talks now and then as we were a close knit family of three.

''Sure guys, I am all ears'' I replied with a wink, sitting on the sofa next to them, completely unaware of what was to come next.

'' Okay so we're just going to go ahead and say this'' my father said. He hesitated, maybe holding back on what he wanted to say, was it that bad?

After a long moment of me sitting with my hands clasped together, eyes fixed on the intricate flooring I heard what they had to say.

''Sweetheart, were spies'' they both said simultaneously.

''Hahahahaha" I burst out laughing clutching my stomach. They probably said this to lighten the mood, i should know, they sometimes blurt out the weirdest things.

They didn't reply, they sat there with blank looks on their faces as I recovered from my laughter.

They can't be serious right? I mean c'mon... spies! Seriously?! That only happens in movies! Especially in spy kids, man that film is awesome! I would love to have all those seriously cool gadgets and save the world, who wouldn't?

But i guess spies are not really all about that. If they were, my mum and dad would be the epitome of cool!

"Maria, this isn't a joke. We were spies about twenty years ago, before we had you. Now we would like to do it again, with you tagging along obviously.' my dad stated, sending my mum a reassuring smile and then looking back at me with an unreadable expression.

Seriously, are my parents crazy? They are spies and they want me to be one too? They are either drunk or it must be take the Mick of Maria day. I'm hoping it's not any of those ideas.

While I was reflecting this, I heard a muffled cough coming from beside me; I realized I spaced out again. Like always, I always find myself slipping away from my surroundings.

''You guys can't be serious''

''Oh we are serious young lady, and we are going to be the most awesome spy family the firm has ever seen" my mum giggled and fist pumped the air.

I stated in horror and her action and face palmed myself. Did I mention I have the weirdest family?

So yeah that's basically my life in a nutshell.

I guess I look average, I mean I don't know the definition of average, but I guess I am it. Apart from the fact I am an agent. But hey, don't judge a book by its cover.

Sighing I strolled into my bathroom after my watch telling me my boss needs to see me. As I looked in the mirror I was actually satisfied for once. I have brown shoulder length hair. My eyes are always catching every ones attention as they are a dazzling blue and sparkle with an almond shaped frame of elegant lashes. Everyone says I am always smiling with my perfect straight teeth and pink full rouged lips. Brushing my teeth, I thought about what I was going to do today. I didn't bother with applying foundation as my skin has always been clear and quite tanned, however I added a few coats of mascara and headed to my wardrobe to pick up my outfit.

Deciding on some light blue faded skinny jeans and a white tank top added with my favourite blue Hollister cardigan, I was almost ready.

Skipping down the stairs and slipping across the hallway into the kitchen. I went and slid two slices of bread into the toaster and waited for it to come up.

5 minutes later I was ready. I grabbed my white converses and my handbag with a few of a girls essential. Back up make-up-Check! Keys-Check! Phone-Check! Money-Check!

Out I went stepping out of my three story house, as we were spies, we were pretty well off and I usually got what I asked for. However I was never one to brag and flaunt my money in people's faces, in fact I usually helped out at local shelters and other Charity's, it made me much happier to see people smile. Money didn't really matter to me, as long as I had a supportive family. I locked the door behind me quickly. The air seemed a bit cooler today but still nipped a little bit through my thin cardie. I rushed to my white BMW m3 coupe and jumped inside. Starting the engine and heading to base, I wonder whose butt I am kicking today....
