(TW: mention of parent abandonment)

Finn went out for the day today with the band as a celebratory dinner. He said he'd be back by 9 but it's now 9:30 and he's not home.

You texted him multiple times to see where he was and if he was ok. But no answer.

It could be anything. He's probably fine, you think.

But then part of your mind isn't so easy.

What if he's hurt? What if something happened?

You text Finn again but this time it doesn't even deliver.

"Ugh! Where is he?" You start to worry even more at this point. It's now 9:45.

You wonder if you should head down to where Finn and the band were supposed to have dinner. But you toss that idea out because if everything is fine you're just gonna look like an obsessive weirdo.

Suddenly the door opens.

"Finn!" You rush over to him and you hug him. "Are you ok? Is everything ok?"

He laughs. "Yeah babe, everything's ok. I just lost my phone and we went looking for it." He pulls it out of his pocket. "Bad thing is, I found it in a puddle."

"Oh. Okay. Well, that sucks, but I'm glad everything is ok. I was so worried. I thought you were gone."

Finn gives you a concerned look as he takes his jacket off. "Babe, has something like this happened to you before? Is that why you got so nervous?"

You hesitate a little. "Well, yeah. When my dad left, he said he was going to the grocery store and he never came back. I was ten."

Finn gives you a bear hug. "Well I'll never leave you. And I'm sorry for scaring you." He kisses you on the cheek. "Come on, lets get to bed and watch a movie or something."

You hug Finn back. "Okay. I love you."
