Walking back into school after Christmas break, I felt myself again despite the eyes I could feel on the back of my neck.

Once I got to home room/ form, I spotted a seat next to Ayo and sat besides him.

"I thought we were trying to keep it low-key" he whispered.

"I don't care" I sighed laying my head on his shoulder and snaking my fingers into his hand. I ignored the whispers around us that exploded like smoke and relaxed into my little bubble. I bought Deion winking at me. I laughed and he laughed back.

Later in the day I went to maths class with Deion.

"How you doing?" Deion smirked.

"Shut up Deion" I laughed pushing him slightly. He pushed the door open and we sat down in our seats.

"I'm glad to see you happy" he smiled genuinely. "Been seeing you grinning uncontrollably all day"

"Really? You don't think I'm stupid?"

"Nah. I think your big stupid. But you both look happy and I like that." He replied taking notes down. I smiled and hugged his arm tightly.

"I'm glad I get your approval" I beamed.

"Yasmine's probably gonna bite your butt off though" he laughed.

"I know. Why do you think I've been avoiding her all day" I said as I looked up to listen to the teacher.

After my last lesson I bumped into Yasmine who was standing right outside my class. My eyes widened and I turned on my heels to head in the other direction.

"Where do you think you're going?" I heard her y'all after me. Her shoes made quick clicks on the floor.

Eventually I felt her arms around my neck as she jumped on my back.

"Hey!" I said falling to the ground with her.

"Well someone's lost their balance" she laughed as she sat up on the floor and picked her bag up. I glared at her with my eyebrow raised.

"Don't look at me like that. It was you that had avoided me all day" she stood up and helped me up too.

"Well? Are you going to shout at me then?" I asked.

"For what? Possibly making the best mistake of your life or trying to get rid of me?" She asked.

"The first one?" I shrugged.

We walked to her locker so she could get her trampolining stuff and talked.

"I think that you guys can make each other so happy. But you can also make each other really depressed. So it's all good and we'll until you upset the other. Ya get me?"

I didn't reply. I just thought about it.

"I think you guys are amazing for each other but it depends on whether you think you guys are mostly happy or usually sad" she said as she shut her locker.

"I'll think about it" I said finally. I gave her a hug and headed to Ayo's locker.

"Heyyy" I said wrapping my arms around his waist.

"Hey baby girl"

I gave him a peck on the lips and hugged him tighter.

"I brought my car today. Do you want me to drop you off?" He spoke into my ear in a low tone sending vibrations down my spine.

"Sure" I gushed.

We walked outside hand in hand, just talking. Then, he began to tickle my sides making me laugh a lot.

"Stop" I laughed once we got to his car.

"Nah"
I squirmed in his arms until I was nearly crouching in on the ground. His arms were around me and he kept tickling me.

"I'll pee my pants" I laughed harder.

"I'd like to see that happen" He chortled.

"Excuse me?" Someone coughed.

Ayo helped me up and we turned to face -

"Lisa?" Ayo exclaimed. " I thought I told you to leave me alone."

"I need to talk to you it's important." She said.

Ayo threw me the car keys and told me to wait in the car.

I sat down and sighed. I looked out the window to see Lisa explaining something. Then Ayo started pacing and got angry. Eventually he was towering over her and they were both shouting at the other. 

When he got back to the car he didn't say anything. He just started the ignition and drove off.

Once he got to my house he stopped the car and looked at me. His lips searched for words desperately, his top lip quivering.

"Shh" I said putting my finger on his lips " You don't have to say anything yet." I smiled sadly and got out of the car
