"What do you mean excluded!" My mother exclaims. "Mom, I got into a fight with Melody, because she said to go back to dads grave, and Ben had said something. But it's alright now Melody and I are friends again." I attempt to explain.
"So you're telling me you got in a fight over your father." I nod. I swallow the lump in my throat.
"Now, I'm not angry, but you will have to make it up to me." I nod again, understanding completely.
"I want you to do chores." She decides. I still don't talk, I'm sure this won't be that bad.
"I will be making a list, and will pin it up on the fridge by Friday." I nod, still not saying a word.
"And I know you were with Ashton yesterday."
"Yeah..." oh god this could either go really well or really bad.
"I'm not mad." Phew. I take a deep breath. "I've decided I'm not going to judge people anymore, and I'm not going to get involved in your love life, because I'm running out of time Mercury Gemini." Right well that got deep.
"So, off to your room child."
"Yes mother, love you mother."
"Love you too, Gemini." She winks and I run up to my room. Dinner yesterday. It wasn't that bad, it was okay, better than the first time. It just involved Mars talking about how his business is going well and me talking about colleges and if I even want to go to college and all that jazz

"Oh Liz, what do you mean Luke's expelled." My mum says into the phone. I furrow my brows. Luke... golden boy... expelled. I try to ask my mum if that's Liz Hemmings. She hold up a finger asking me to wait. "Yeah sure he can stay here for a month." My mum says. I start to dance around silently. My mum clicks her fingers telling me to stop.
"It's alright Liz, yeah sure he can come now, Mercury's off for two weeks for getting in a fight anyway so, don't worry about it, alright see you later Liz, bye, bye, bye." She puts the phone down.
"How did Luke get expelled?" I ask.
"He kept meetings a girl in school hours and he got caught three times, meaning his strikes led to being expelled." That girl is me. Luke's been helping a lot lately and actually been into my school so, it's my fault. "Oh." I quietly say. My mum gives me an odd look, but was interrupted but a knock at the door.
"That was quick." I say. My mum rolls her eyes and goes to the door.
"Luke, Liz, come in." She welcomes them in, Luke drags in a large suitcase from behind him. "Go take up your bag Luke, I won't stay long." Liz says.
"I have to go pick up Jack." Wow, I love Liz and all, but she definitely favours Jack, especially in times like these. It annoys me, Jack isn't the better Hemmings. We're family and all, but Luke's always been my favourite.
"So anyway, Mercury, your fight, you're a lady you shouldn't be getting in fights." Liz lectures.
"Right." I say. "Not lady like." I mumble. Luke finally comes down after taking up his bags. He gives me a hug and I feel safe. I always did.
"Alright I'm going to get going, now Luke Robert Hemmings, behave, an you'll be going to Mercury's school from now on." He nods his head as she shows herself out. My mum hears the door shut and finally relaxes. She sighs.
"What will we do with you Luke." She says.
"Not sure Steph." He says jokingly.
"God, children these days, why did I have so many!" She jokingly complains. "Erm, excuse me, your favourite child's here." I say giggling
"I know, come here you two." She says ushering us over. We both join her, she separates the two of us by sitting in the middle. Both me and Luke put our heads on her shoulders and she strokes our hair. We end up falling asleep listening to my mum whispering a song. I know the song. It was my parents first dance song. I miss dad.

It's now Friday and the rota is up. Me, Luke and Jax all have our days to do. What if it gets my keys back, and changes my mums idea for an eighteenth birthday party, it's worth it.
"Jax, that's not where the clean plates go!" I scream. Jaxon has decided to put the newly clean plates in the dishwasher with the dirty ones. "You're going to get me in so much trouble Jaxon Walters." I growl
"Now, now children." Luke says.
"Like you're any help Hemmings." I say. I am just not in the mood today!
"Alright Gemini, chill." He says putting his hands up.
"Shouldn't you be vacuuming?" I ask.
"No, I've done it." He says, crossing his arms.
"Well fuck off then."
"Language!" Jax points out.
"I will." Luke says... idiot.
The front door shuts. "Mom?" I shout.
"Yes dear?" She says all posh.
"Nothing, just checking it's you." She starts to whiz around the house. I sit there. Watching her. "Have you lost something?" I ask.
"My old baby scan photos." I furrow my brows.
"You still have them, it's been thirteen years since you had your last child, you why would you want them." She scoffs, rolls her eyes and then carries on looking. I carry on eating my cereal.
"Well aren't you going to help me!" I don't say anything I just put the spoon down and help her.
"Here." I say passing them to her.
"That's you." I look at it, it must've been the first one, I looked tiny.
"You were three months there."
"Wow."
"I know, get that box, the rest of you lot are in there." I have her the small brown box. On every scan it had a date and the name of the child. Jaxon was right at the top. And as we went through them there was Mars right at the bottom. There was something else. An envelope.
"Mum what's this?"
"Oh Mercury." She says I get confused
"It's for you and Jax, for when you both turn 18."
"Who from?" I ask. I look at the handwriting. Dads. "Oh."I say barely audible.
"Open it on your birthday."
"I will." I say. I put the letter back in the box and leave. I scrape my bowl of cereal away and put the cutlery away. I walk upstairs and sit on my bed. I cry, breakdown. It's nearly February and for some reason I get very sad during February. Luke comes in.
"It's nearly February, isn't it?" He questions, he pulls me in a hug and he strokes my hair.
"Go to sleep Mercury Gemini, It'll all be better soon." he whispers
