throwing punches

It had been a week and nothing had been solved. I was still pregnant, worrying my ass off. Luke had been taking me to school everyday since the fight. It was barely a fight but I mean. Someone got hurt. Luke had been put on some sort of report, we had finished all of our exams so, there was no point in kicking him out, we were literally there for fun. But what we were really doing was preparing for graduation, which is in two weeks time on thursday.

I'd be 8 weeks and my first scan was on the Wednesday, the day before graduation. I was going to miss practice out time where we talk, walk and learn the timings for the next day, I was paired with a girl called Claire. Her name was Claire Wall so, our names were close together. We were stuck with the people in register order for the rest of term, it was to make sure everything went smoothly on the day.

Claire was a naturally a red haired girl and looked fragile, and lived down the same street as me. I had seen her around but never actually spoke to her. She told me that she had always looked up to me, the way I dress and the way I did things and how I coped with my dad dying. She respected my decision on when I told her about Ashton and the secret I was hiding.

Claire was a lovely girl but I don't was her in my world, she'd get hurt. She was small girl, skinny as ever, but ate like there was no tomorrow. She was in my english class, and we sat together, just getting to know each other. We then found out that our younger brothers were friends and her dad was my therapist. It was a small world. As I got to know her more and more everyday, I'd wished I'd made friends with her sooner.

She was halfway through telling me about how much her brother talks about mine when Ashton burst through the door with Luke. A wave of anxiety rushed over my body.

Ashton punched Luke. I sat there and acted like I didn't know what was going on. My English teacher, Mr Andy grabbed Luke away from Ashton. Luke was stronger than Ashton and I was scared Luke was going to accidentally assault Mr Andy.

"Mercury!" Sir calls, oh no.
"Take Ashton to the first aid then to the office I'll deal with Luke." I and Claire looked at each other. Claire stood up. And took after Ashton. She whispered in sirs ear something and left.

I raised from my seat and went down to calm Luke down.

"LUKE!" I snapped, he calmed down and finally looked me in the eyes. "Take him out please M." Sir said. Luke was smart, usually. Fighting is not usually his front. He's a lovely young man. I'm his cousin and he treats me like royalty, I cannot wait for him to fall in love.

"Mercury, I'm sorry." I was annoyed, and upset and overall angry.

"I know that he's done something wrong towards me but I don't want you to get in trouble just before graduation." It was true, there was no point in getting expelled when there are two weeks of school left.

He bows his head, knowing I'm right. I got him in trouble once and that the only time that I will. I'm just sick of everyone fighting. I need this pregnancy to be supported and cared for. I can't have stress, it will hurt everything. And besides that, I don't like seeing my loved ones hurt.

"I'm sorry." He repeats, his eye was swelling and his nose was bloody, time for first aid.

"Come on let's get you down to first aid," I say, we turn in the other direction and head to the nurse.

-

"He said that he still loves you and wants to get with you but he also hates you because he realises who you are, the brat. So I punched him, he's a prick Mercury, I don't see how you love him." He says while the school nurse cleans him up. I was sitting on a very uncomfortable blue chair. The foam inside was showing as thousands of student picked at the small hole. I was looking at Luke, how much he reminded me of my dad. Just the way he was, not even his appearance. I just was going back to everything that has happened of these past few months. He and Ashton got on so well, but he was loyal to me, Luke. He stood by my side through everything. I believe that Ashton is the one. The one that I will love forever, of course, everything is different now, but before, Luke didn't agree with my choices, example, Calum and Ben. But with Ashton, they got on, they were good friends. I've ruined everything.

"I want you to apologise," I say, the nurse was just finishing up putting a plaster on his hand.

Luke looks at me. "Please repeat." He says.

"I want you to apologise."I say a bit louder. He sits up straight and goes to put up a fight but stops himself.

He sighs. "Okay."

-

"Hey, Ashton!" Luke calls, he was in front of us, just leaving the headmasters office. He whips his head round.

"What." He spits. "Want round two Hemmings." Luke's hand clenches, but tried to keep his cool. I grab his arm and hold on.

"I want to apologise." He says nicely.

"Me too." I was surprised on this but I'm sure it would be all alright. Luke etched closer to Ash. Ashton stuck out his hand and Luke joined his and they shook hands.

"C'mere." Luke said and hugged Ash. They hug it out and then separate. I smile as Luke turns around. I'm glad it's okay between them.
"Let's go home." Luke says. We had about half an hour left and Luke was going to be sent home anyway. Claire's figure popped into my mind.

"One second Luke, I need to go to the office." He furrows his brows and shrugs his shoulder.

-

"Where's Claire Wall?" I ask.
"Science floor." Ugh. Stupid receptionists. I say thank you anyway and go off. Luke follows close behind, which is odd, his long legs usually go a lot faster than mine and I'm the one running behind. But I guess Luke didn't understand why I was going off.

I knock on room 201 and I ask the teacher for Claire. "And why do you need her?" The old teacher asks.
"I just need to tell her something." The teacher waves her hand and I rush over to Claire. "I'm going home with Luke, would you like to come over once school is out?" I whisper. She nods making her glasses fall slightly down her nose. I quickly write down my address and give it to her, she pushes up her glasses and says thank you. I turn around and walk out of the classroom with a slam. I grab Luke and we run to the car park. We jump in the car and make our way home. What a day
