Sorry Surprises

Cloes POV

I wake up with a smile on my face. It quickly disappears after I remember what I had done. I wanted to see my mom today.

I wake up earlier then usual so I can visit her house before school.

I put on some black ripped jeans and a blue and black striped crop top. I put on my black leather jacket and black kombat boots.

I leave my hair down and I put my contacts in.

I grab my bag and head downstairs. I leave a note on the fridge to my dads telling them I left early to finish some homework.

Pulling up to my old street felt like a weird type of déjà vu. I walk up to the window and see my mom sitting down on the couch reading a book.

She never read. I looked closer to see it was a bible. She was wearing glasses and a floral dress. Her hair was tied up into a messy bun.

Well this is odd

I gained the courage to walk up to her front door and knock. I thought of an excuse before. I took out my notebook

She opened up the door with a smile on her face.

"Hello, can I help you dear ?" She says kindly

My heart ached

I hadn't seen my mom in 3 years. She was so different. Something about her was missing. She had worry lines on her forehead and bags beneath her eyes. She had no makeup on which was a first sight for me.

"Ya um where's the nearest bus stop" I say putting on a fake smile

"It's one block down the street that way" she said pointing to the left.

I stared at her without realizing. She was beautiful

"Anything else" she says

"No um thank u" I say heading to my car.

I got in the car and started crying. I couldn't hold the tears back and I let them out. I drove to the school and went to the library since it was only 7:30 and classes started at 8:30.

I sat down at a table in the back and got out my book. It was about two lovers from different worlds. I was intrigued in my book until I felt a tap on my shoulder

I turned around to be met with a boy with blond hair and hazel eyes.

"Hey I'm Damian. I dont think we've met before" he said putting his hand out for me to shake.

"Hi I'm Cloe." I say shaking his hand. They were soft and warm but not sweaty. He smirked at me and asked "mind if I sit down" pulling the seat out.

"N-"

"Yes she does. Fuck off asshole" Ethan says coming out of no where and sitting beside me.

"I think you should let her speak for herself" he says looking at me

"Nah I'm good. Get lost or we both know you'll regret it" Ethan said cooly, leaning back in his chair

"It was nice meeting you Cloe, talk later?" He said

"Ya, see ya" I said shocked by Ethan's actions

"Hey babe" he says leaning in and kissing my cheek and wrapping his arms around me.

"What the fuck are you on right now." I say prying myself out of his grasp but he was too strong

"Don't act like you don't love it" he whispers in my ear before nibbling on my neck

"I'm not acting now get off me" I say pushing him away and succeeding this time

"Why were you such a dick to him" I say to Ethan

"I'm not a dick but I have one if u wanna see" Ethan says smirking

"No ew E" I say closing my book and putting it into my back pack

"Ight it's because ur mine. Some fucker like that better keep his distance" he said

"Who the hell said I was yours. I'm not anyone's property" I say getting annoyed

"I said it. Your mine baby girl and no one else's" he said in a low seductive whisper

"As if. I'm not yours or anyone else's." I say getting up and placing my bag over my shoulder and leaving Ethan.

I head over to my locker and open it. A slip of paper falls out and I pick it up. It was a note

"The scariest monsters are the ones that leek within our souls. I told you your past would come back to haunt you no matter how far you run or where you hide. I promised you hell and I tend to keep my promises"

I fold the note and place it in my back pocket. I open my locker and grab my science book and head to class.

Was he really here?
