In an office overlooking the sixth floor, I had a hard time believing the existence of Dracula's father. Because from the stories I've heard, Dracula's father died alongside his eldest son against the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. And it's rumored that he was once a member of the Order of the Dragon. But seeing is believing and the only one that could tell me the truth about who this man is, is Dracula. I went to the window and stared out into the science lab where a two-man team was working on transferring Dracula to another level of the facility.

"I'd forget about him if I were you." Dr. Jekyll said. "The man you once knew is gone."

"Where are they taking him?"

"To the basement. We have a highly skilled training area set up just for him."

"You say he's your son. But why kidnap him now, after all this time?"

"We thought we had our accident under control at first. But the virus became too strong. It's almost impossible to kill. So that's why we need Dracula."

"Accident? Virus? What the hell is wrong with you people?"

I turned to face the Dr. as he returned to his seat and handed me a folder. The folder was listed as HEAVILY CLASSIFIED with files explaining the nature of the virus and how to destroy it in case of an emergency. When I reached the bottom, I noticed a sticky note with the words OPERATION X scribbled on the front of photographs of Dracula and me. I suddenly felt violated having been spied upon by a secret organization whose purpose was to kidnap Dracula and change him to fit their needs.

"So tell me more about this virus." I said, leaning with my back towards the window.

"We've been tracking the vampire myth for as long as humanly possible. And for every piece of Intel we received, it turned out to be nothing more than a dead end. My bosses were paying top dollar in the hundreds of millions for any shred of proof that vampires did exist at one point. It took us nearly six years until a team discovered an ancient tomb out in the Libyan, Desert. It was there that they discovered the skeletal remains of a once proud civilization just buried underneath all that sand."

"Okay. So you found a pile of bones. Big deal. That still doesn't explain the nature of the virus."

Dr. Jekyll smirked, playing with the ring on his right hand. "Dracula is not the king of all vampires. He's merely a carbon copy, a distant relative so to speak. No, the real king was still there sitting on his throne. So we brought the remains here, ran a few tests and with a stroke of luck. We were able to extract a single cell."

Fear turned to ice in my veins at the thought of a single cell being able to cause so much destruction. Then again, plagues and viruses have been around for years so why would this be any different. Dr. Jekyll reached into his desk and pulled out a tablet that showed a digital recording of the virus being processed for testing.
