Sorry, guys. This was supposed to be the first chapter before the last one.

With all the controversies that surrounded me, I had honestly forgotten that it was my birthday. Or maybe I chose to put it aside because I didn't want to think about anything.

"So, what do you want to do today?" Tessa asked after she came into my room with a cupcake that had a burning birthday candle on top singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

"I don't know really, I don't feel like celebrating, not when I'm in mourning," I answered as I bit into my cupcake.

"Yeah, that's right, maybe we could have a little dinner and invite a few close friends. I already texted Michael and we both agree that you're not allowed to say no."

"Michael, since when?"

"Don't change the subject. We are doing this."

I nodded and accepted it, I did need a distraction, it suddenly got me thinking. I wondered if David remembered it was my birthday. A little part of me wanted to know. I also wanted to know why didn't mention Henna had found out about us, why did he take all the blame? It was my fault too. god, I couldn't even imagine what Henna must had thought of him.

I had to talk to him.

So Tessa and I got ready and met with Michael, Olivia and Olivia's brother, Teddy at a dinner restaurant. It was a little cheesy but it was the thought that counted and I was very excited because my friends had taken the time out of their night to come to celebrate my birthday. Even Nate showed up, some guy I met at the memorial service, which was a odd place to meet someone but he seemed cool and friends with Michael.

It was a happy and fun occasion with wonderful people. We ate, we had a laugh, made jokes, and had a gorgeous time getting to know one another.

We stayed at the restaurant for a few hours but then everyone had to leave because well they had a life. It was just me and Nate, now that I think about it it seemed like a trap.

Nate and I got to talk, and I soon realized he was another clueless rich kid just like me, but in his defense, he was smart and making his parents proud in an ivy league college.

"What does it feels like to go to Princeton?"

"One word, burdensome."

We both laugh,

"I mean, it's a great school but they have all these unrealistic expectations of how to succeed in the real world."

"Unrealistic?"

"Yeah, but that's a topic for another day." He shook it off and we ended up talking about other things. I was feeling pretty good by the time Nate had to take me home, thankfully I was sober.

"Well, thank you for the night, it really was wonderful," I said as we parked in front of the house.

"You're very welcome. I wanted you to have fun on your birthday." He smiled.

"And I did have fun, having you guys there was all I really needed," I told him as I watched him rub his hands repeatedly as if he was nervous.

"Do you want to say something?"

"Can I kiss you?" He blurted out, having me gasping.

"Uhm... I don't think that's a good idea."I told him smiling sadly.

He nodded.

"Yeah, that was a stupid thing to ask."

"Yeah."

We awkwardly started laughing.

"Is it him?" He asked after a while. I knew what he meant.

"Yeah."

He nodded again.

"We used to date-" I paused.

"What happened?"

"Life, college, maybe our conscience."

"How old were you?"

"Don't worry, he's not a pervert or something." If anything I was the pervert.

"Good. ... Because if ever hurts you, I'm going to have to break something on him...possibly his pretty man face." He said and I started laughing before leaning in and hugging him,

"Thank you, Nate. Let's hang out again sometime." I said and pulled back.

"I would love that."

"Great. Goodnight." I got down from the car and made my way inside.
