A few days earlier....Natalia
After countless attempts, I was finally able to get David on the phone.
"What?"
He was upset.
"Don't hang up, this is important." I cut in quickly, I didn't want him to drop the call, it took a lot of effort to get him to answer, "I know where she is?"
"Natalia, I'm not in the mood for games."
I rolled my eyes, I must really love him, I thought.
"I know where Alison is?"
The line went dead for a moment,
"You there?"
"Natalia, what are you saying?" I had always loved it when he called my name. No one had ever called it as he did. It flowed so smoothly on his tongue. He must really like me, I thought.
"Let's meet up at our usual place and I promise I would tell you everything I know," I knew I had him in the palm of my hand.
He went silent as if mulling over my offer, "Babe?" I teased him, "If you like we could catch up from where we left off." I didn't think he would fall for it.
"Come to the office."
I smiled.
"No, no... Let's meet at the hotel just like the good all days. I'll be waiting-" I hung up.
Gotcha ya.
