Chapter Seventeen

"Sir, I shall be taking the Princess to the meeting point," Dimitri spoke in a tone of authority but Anya did not hear that, she only heard him call her a Princess and she winced. If he did not know before he definitely did now and that meant another long talk of explaining everything later on.

His hand was holding onto her upper arm with a little more pressure than she liked, in fact it was hurting her a little but she did not say anything, she just wanted Dimitri to do what he needed.

"Now? But I thought that would not be for another three hours?" The guard replied with his eyes narrowed slightly. Anya gulped but Dimitri's face was kept neutral.

"I am only following the orders I was given." He stated and then started walking forward, pulling Anya with him.

"Hey wait!" The guard yelled at them. Dimitri swore under his breath but turned around to face him.

"What? We have a long journey ahead."

"I am going to send another guard with you, she might try to escape again." His eyes glared at Anya with disgust. "Just wait a minute."

He went to go into the building that Anya was being kept in and even she saw the alarm flash in his eyes. "Stop him!" She hissed under her breath.

Dimitri leapt ahead and pulled him away from the building, his eyes flashing to Anya. "That is unnecessary."

   "I must insist."

Anya stepped up to them, "Honestly, I will not try to run. It is time to give this up." The guard looked at Anya with disdain, he really did not like her and Anya was more than a little put off by it. What had she seriously done to get all of this hate? The only sort-of compliment she had been given was being called 'hot' or whatever they said and she did not really enjoy that one too much. She did not want to be looked at like some piece of meat.

All she did was try to help and it was always blown straight back in her face and it was getting on her nerves.

"Why, are you finally ready to go and sleep in that big bed alone, I am glad you have got over that absolute horror." He spoke sarcastically and Anya's mouth dropped in shock.

"Excuse me, but do you know who you are talking to?" She snapped annoyed. She had never fully said that but it felt so good. "I am your superior and you shall respect me. I want this guard to accompany me and no other, if you inisist, I shall insist to my grandfather, the King in case you have forgotten, that you ill-treated me and it will be fun to see how long you actually manage to keep your job. My guess is not that long." She turned to Dimitri, "What do you think?" He only smirked back.

And with that speech - one she was extremely proud of - she stormed off ahead, her head held high. She had always tried to treat the guards and the rest of her family's employees with the upper-most respect and before today she would have been glad that she had conducted herself that way, but today she also saw their true colours, what they really thought of her and she did not feel bad at all.

She was not a push-over and every now and again she enjoyed her power, now that Dimitri knew, she could use it .

"Hey wait up! You are practically running!" Dimitri yelled after her. She slowed down, the adrenalin still pumping through her body and let him catch up to her, which he soon did and not an inch out of breath but considering the hints of his body she had caught, it did not surprise her.

And when he punched that guard, she had never seen someone use so much strength, it was just mesmerizing and knowing that he did it for her made it all that special - not that she usually condoned punching her grandfather's employees.
