Jake p.o.v.

"What are you doing here!?"

I turned and saw Dirk in the doorway. He walked over to me but leaned on the balcony and looked out at the sea.
"Who would have thought out of everyone out there Meenah had to be the one."

"I beg your pardon?"
What about her? Did her and Dirk fancy each other? Was he mad at me for getting the person he loved?

"Why Marry her?"
He looked at me and I wasn't able to read his expression, was he upset?

"I didn't have a choice, my father arranged the marriage without informing me. I have never even seen the young lady until we were told of the engagement..."
You sighed. I despised him so much...
Dirk burst into laughter and smiled?

"Why in the bloody hell are you laughing?"
I was confused, why laughter?

"Oh good, I was actually worried you proposed yourself for her hand in marriage."

"Now listen here, I certainly did not propose to a the little devil herself." Why would he think me of all people would propose to her. I admit my choics of words was harsh but it seemed fitting at the moment.

"Good because I don't think I'd be able to live thinking you chose to be hers."
He smiled quickly then he went expressionless.

"Now why would that be?"
I turned to face him and he faced me.

"Wouldn't you rather be with me?"

"I-I..."

Where did that comment come from!? I knew I was flustered so instead I shook my head and looked at him.

"Your my new friend, for a second I thought you had a love interest with her qnd were angry at me."

He stayed quiet then the other female mermaid saw us and walked our way,
"There you guys are, I was looking for Dirk, David said he needs to talk to you."

"He does?"

She nodded her head holding up her wine glass at me smiling. I guess I should go back inside. Everyone was having a great time except me, John went off with the merman, Jane is with Roxy, and Jade is no where to be found. I looked around and saw father with a stern face and he walked over to me.

"Go dance with some of the girls Jake, and if you like one I might make her your bride instead, depending on what family she comes from of course."
He said pointing out to the crowd of girls.

I sighed and smiled at him and noticed a lovely lady in a dark blue dress, shorts black hair and white glasses. Woah...

"I think I may have found her..."

I walked over to her and introduced myself, turns out her name is Aranea Serket, such a lovely name and she looked beautiful!
"Aranea may I have this dance?"

I held out my hand but before she cpuld take it Meenah came and took her hand!?

"No way Jake she's mine, lets go Aranea."

"Meenah!"

Meenah stormed off taking Aranea with her. Aranea looked back apologized then left with her. I really can't get anyone can I? I sat down at one of the tables and took a glass of water and drank it. Now that I think about it, where the bloody hell is John? Hopefully he's having a better time than I am...
