She tried her hardest to cry silently. Completely ignoring everything in her life, trying her best to keep it all in. But it was impossible. She was only human. Her emotions got the best of her, as they would anyone else. As she sat in the dressing room crying, others heard her. Her neighbors looked at each other from across the hall and frowned, not knowing what to do with her. They didn't know her well enough to barge in and comfort her.. No one knew her that well.

"What's with the faces?" Lin, the creator of the musical they were all in, asked them both.

"She's freaking out over something in there..." Renee was the first to speak up. Her sobs weren't loud, but they weren't quiet either...

"It's really depressing... I've never heard anyone cry like that... it's almost as if she's afraid of something..." Jasmine frowned, trying not to let the girl's cries get to her.

"Have you guys tried asking yet?" He asked. Both of them shook their heads, answering his question. He contemplated whether or not to barge in, so he knocked. Waiting for something to happen. The only thing that did happen was the crying stopped. "Pippa? Are you in there?" He called out.

Pippa sat on the couch in her dressing room, feeling so far away from everything. She could hear it all, but couldn't get the strength to get up from the couch to get up and answer the door. Couldn't even find the strength to speak and answer people... So in response to it all, she continued to cry, this time just adding another reason to why she was crying.

On the other side of the door, Lin's heart broke at her cries. They were barely moved into the new theatre, and hadn't even begun a real rehearsal yet. He just wanted her to stop crying and be okay. So he did the unthinkable.

"Pippa, I'm going to come in now." He said loudly enough for her to hear. He waited a few seconds before turning the knob, surprised that I was unlocked, and pushed it open, only enough for him to slip inside quickly. He didn't want to expose her if it was something horrible. When he turned to find her, he saw the most heartbreaking scene. She was curled up on her small couch, had a small blanket covering her legs while she clung to a small orange pillow. "Hey.." He said in a quiet voice. "What's going on?" He frowned while sitting next to her.

Pippa didn't even look at him. Refusing to let herself come out of her shell. On the inside, she was screaming for help, wanting someone to comfort her and help her, but the outside didn't let her. She just continued to cry, every time she opened her mouth, she would shake her head, letting more tears emerge from her eyes.

"It's going to be okay." He whispered while slowly pulling her into a hug. He hated seeing her like this. He was so used to seeing her happy self, her usual bubbly personality making everyone laugh. Her awkward jokes that made everyone just stare, then laugh. It was horrible to see the once happy girl, become this fragile, broken character. He knew it wasn't the Pippa he knew here. It at least couldn't have been.

"H-how can you say it's-its going to be okay?" She managed to sputter out finally. Lin was taken back by her words, more surprised that she finally spoke to him.

"I... Just say it.. Even if it isn't. Because I hope it to be true." He shrugged. Pippa looked up at him, not even knowing how to comprehend anything at that point. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked her. She shook her head slightly, not even knowing where to begin on anything she was feeling at that point. "Are you sure." He raised an eyebrow at her, coaxing her to at least say something more.

"I.. I don't even know how to talk about it..." She sighed. "I usually just don't..." she shrugged. Lin handed her the box of tissues and let her wipe her face clean of everything.

"Well... I think you should. You shouldn't bottle things in and hope they'll work out eventually." He frowned.

"Okay.." she took in a breath, then let it out slowly. "I'm just.. absolutely terrified." She began.

"Of?" He asked while rubbing her back.

"Everything." She frowned. "Literally everything. I could be doing the most happiest thing, and be absolutely terrified that I have to leave." She continued. "I'm so afraid that everything I've been lead to believe now... Won't make anything right or even be right when I'm dead..." She looked up at Lin, tears brimming her eyes again.

"Pip...." he started.

"And I really... Really don't want to die... The thought of everything is terrifying and no matter how hard I try and think about anything else.. I realize that's all there is. Everything is here just to die." She sobbed. Lin frowned at the thought, not knowing this about his dear friend.

"Pippa, how long has this been going on?" He said while taking her hands.

"A while." She shrugged. "But that's how my life is. It's always been like this." She sighed.

"That can't be good." He frowned. You need to see someone about this. This can't just be normal for you." He tried his best to comfort her, it seemed to be working for a while. She opened up to him, letting him see a whole new side of her that he was sure no one else had seen before.

"I'll try... I mean, it's going to be hard with this schedule but.. I will." She gave him a small smile, hoping he would take it and be okay with her now. She felt so vulnerable at that moment. Knowing that her kind of boss could tell her she's not healthy enough to perform now.

"I promise not to tell anyone either. It's a you problem that needs to be handled delicately and slowly." He gave her a quick hug, squeezing her a bit to make sure the love was there.

"Thank you." She whispered.

"Anytime." He smiled.
