Jin led the two boys all the way to the garden, not answering any of their questions until they got there. Finally, he stopped when they reached the very heart of the garden, where an enormous willow tree stood surrounded by a circle of rose bushes.
"Hyung, what's gotten into you? Why'd you bring us all the way out here?" Jungkook demanded impatiently as the other turned to face them both with the same, serious expression.
Jin inhaled, then released a steady breath as he looked them sternly.
"I need to know what exactly is the issue between you two."
Jungkook frowned, "What?"
"I overheard everything you said in the dining hall," Jin stated, "and I think I can help you. But I need to know what's the problem."
Jungkook tensed as he glanced at Jimin, who stared impassively ahead; the latter didn't say a word. He moved his gaze back to the ground and quietly muttered.
"Jimin...doesn't trust me."
Jin felt his heart skip a painful beat from those four words. Even he could distinguish the anguish and oppressed emotions from his voice - the long, painful story behind it.
"That's all I need to know, and I can fix this with your permission." Jin pronounced.
Jungkook and Jimin both gave him a questioning stare.
"How?" The youngest asked.
"I have the ability to look into the future. It's called precognition," Jin explained, "I can also bring people with me to experience what the future of an event will be like, but there are a few catches. For example, I can only bring a maximum of three people with me and we'd have a limited time to stay there before we return to the present time. Also, I can only use this power up to two times a day, since it drains a lot of energy."
Jungkook felt his mouth gaping open in awe as he took in the new information. "That's so cool, hyung! Why didn't you tell anyone before?"
The pink-haired male sighed. "You know why. If everyone knew I had this ability -"
"Then everyone would demand to know their future and they'd all come looking for you." Jimin finished with narrowed eyes. "But how is this going to fix what happened? You don't think I saw what I saw?"
Jin knitted his eyebrows as he focused more on the smaller. "I feel like I deserve the full story at some point, but for now, I'll let you two figure things out on your own." He then pulled up the sleeves to his white sweater, revealing two emblems on either wrist.
Jungkook gasped. "You have two emblems. How?"
Jin pointed to the small, white clock on his right wrist and began to explain. "This one represents precognition, the power I just explained to you. Now this one," he used the opposite hand to point at the black clock on his left wrist, "represents retrocognition, which is the direct opposite - the ability to see the past."
"Woah..." The fire mage felt his heart thumping with both anticipation and unease. He finally felt hopeful that Jimin will trust in him again, that he'll finally see that it wasn't Jungkook who hurt him.
"Same rules. Now, are you two willing to take this opportunity to see the past?" Jin inquired seriously as he held out both hands.
Jungkook looked at Jimin, who hesitantly looked back with indecipherable eyes.
