-Sorry, I haven't updated in a while! I have been busy with finals but school just ended! This might be a slow chapter but things are going to get exiting!-

----------------------------------------------

"C'mon Rye!" my dad yells from below. Today we are climbing trees. I have always been able to climb trees. I have spent alot of time up here when I want to be alone, which is quite often. I watch from the top as Rye struggles to make his way up. He isn't even half way. My dad yells for him to keep going as my mom rubs her forehead. I giggle as Rye slips and falss on top of dad. Luckily he wasn't that high.

"Shut up Willow! I can hear you!" Rye screams.

"Oh whatever!" I retort back.

"You know I am stronger than you."

"Ya but I am faster!"

My brother is at a loss for words. I am more athletic but he is defintley more socialable.

"Get....off." my dad gasp out.

"Sorry Dad!" Rye says as he rolls off my dad.

"Willow you can come down now!" my mom yells.

I swiftly make it down in record time. I stick my tounge out at Rye as I land next to him. He rolls his eyes back.

"Ok," my mom starts "now we will work on hand-to-hand combat."

Rye smirks at me. I have never been good at fighting. We used to wrestle all the time. He used to win every single time. Now I can beat hime from time to time.

"Mom and I will show you." dad says.

They show us how to block, punch, and every move in between. Now its time for Rye and I to try. I throw a few good punches but Rye is able to sock me in the mouth. I see Rye doesn't like any of this. We usually just throw weak ounches but this is nothing like that. My parents dont like this either. My mom is pacing and my dad is constantly looking away. I am able to get Rye on the ground. He kicking up in the air before I take a kick to the gut. I wobble over before I am on the ground with the air knocked out of me.

"Will! I am so sorry!" Rye screams. He picks me up in his arms.

"Its ok. You still kick like a wimp." I say through my pain.

"It's not like you could do any better." He says as he engulfs me in a hug.

"I love you, Will."

"I love you too, Rye." We sit there forever before I feel a tap on my shoulder. I forgot mom and dad were there.

"That's it for today. Willow since you know all about plants and survial you don't need to learn any more. Rye, I have a book at home you can read." my mom squeaks out. She looks hurt when she says this. It looks like she has been crying.

"Ok Mom." Rye says.

We all stand up and walk hand in hand back to the house.

----------------------------------------------

I watch the birds sing outside my window. I groan as I hold the icepack up to my stomach. Rye can't go. He can't leave. He is my mom's little boy. He is just to caring to be in that wretched place but most people are to caring.

I watch kids stroll down the streets with their parents. The sparkle that has been in their eyes is gone. They live in fear now. I see Clarrie walking with her brothers. I can see the fear in her eyes. She has so many brothers. All of the could be in the Hunger Games. I only have one brother. She has three that could be reaped this year. Not to mention the ones who can be reaped years later.

This isn't fair. I don't know why this had to happen. I climb into my bed and fall into a deep dreamless sleep.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Sorry for the uneventful chapter. The reaping might be next chapter. Wink, wink. Please vote, comment, read, share, and whatever! Thanks so much! Byes!
