PROBLEM XLIII | Karma Gets Reyana. Well, not Karma...

We spent the rest of the day making the advertisement. We had to recruit Sandra, Grace, Leon, the twins Greg and Grant and Andrew who was jumping up and down at the mention of being in a commercial. That or I may or may not have given him a few candies not knowing the extend of his sugar rush. Also, Kai just wanted to hang around doing nothing.

It was ten O’clock at night and we had just finished filming the commercial.

“I can’t understand the last part of this HoneyCakes, it’s in some different language.”

I rolled my eyes, “It’s an Indian commercial Houston. It’s in Hindi.”

“Well translate this for me then : Cadbury 5 Star mein hai Chocolate, Caramel aur naugat. Toh khaaiye aur kho jaaye.

“It means : Cadbury 5 star has Chocolate, Caramel and Nougat. Eat it and lose it.

Houston laughed, “Gotta say it though, it’s hilarious!”

A yawn then escaped me, “You’re tired,” Houston pointed out.

“Exhausted.”

“Let’s get you home then...If your father is not there.” He said, placing his arm across my shoulder giving me warmth. “Guys! I am going to drop HoneyCakes off!”

“Wait! Can we get some food at yours Clover? We haven’t had anything in a while...”

Houston flat-out refused, which made a scowl appear on Leon’s face. “It’s alright. You all can get something to eat at my place,” I confirmed resting a hand on Houston’s arm as he was about to protest.

“Filthy animals,” Houston muttered under his breath,  earning himself a scowl from Leon and Sandra.

Upon reaching home, I felt my nerves hitting as I stood in front of the door. I had agreed for them to have a snack in my house when I didn’t even know if it was trashed and smelling inside. Needless to say, it was one stupid decision.

Gawning on my lower lip, I turned around and looked at them. They were waiting patiently. The twins were even swaying on their heels.

Reluctantly, I opened the door, slowly pushing it open. Silence greeted me and I almost sighed in relief. Almost. There was a bang on the other side of the door making me quickly shut it again on reflex.

“Guys, I don’t think this is a good time.”

“Why not?”

“It’s messy inside.”

“Clover don’t be doing this now.” Greg said as he and Grant lifted me like I weighed nothing and put me aside. Before I could protest, Grace had already opened the door and everybody was heading in. I looked at Houston with eyes wide with horror before sprinting inside.
