Lance Pov

I'm floating? Where am I? Am I dead? Please tell me I'm dead. The last thing I remember was...a bright light. There was a fight and...then there was pain everywhere. I remember calling out for help, but I knew a large part of me hoped they couldn't hear me. That they would forget about me. That's right, the shot...I took it deliberately. The shot...the pain I deserved. That was my chance...to leave before I caused anyone else pain...and I wasn't throwing away my shot.

When I got to the lion I could only describe the scene as...impossible. You don't know how much blood a body can contain until you've seen it. It took me a moment of pure silence to wrap my head around it. First it was so quiet and the next everything was so loud. The injuries on Lance was severe. A gash to his head bled profusely, his helmet was cracked and a part of the lens were missing. His arm was bent in an awkward position and a small cut was present on his sun kissed cheek. But those were only the wounds we could see, god knows what the internal injuries were. He looked so peaceful, almost as if he were asleep and I would have treasured the moment but given the situation I had no time. I gently scooped Lance up, commanding the others on what to do next. I tensed as Lance's features cringed in pain, a whimper escaping his lips. I brought him to the red lion, fully knowing that the red lion was the fastest among the group.
"Keith, get Lance to the infirmary, now."
"I know, Shiro!" He lashed, but immediately looking guilty.
"...Sorry."
"No, it's fine, hurry."
Once Keith left, I quickly got into my lion only now hearing the rest of the voices around me.
"Shiro? Shiro! We've been trying to get your attention. Somethings wrong, terribly wrong. The damage done to ship during the attack, something happened, the cryopods aren't responding! We can't put Lance in one until we figure it out and we don't know how long it's going to take." Allura shakingly exhaled.
"What?" My blood froze."Are you sure?"
"Positive. But Pidge is on it. Coran's physically treating Lance's wounds right now. Does Hunk have the Blue Lion?" Somehow, I had missed Pidge making it to the ship before me.
"I, uh, yeah, he has the blue lion."
"Good, hurry to the infirmary then."
The rest was a faded memory I can barely recall. Because the next thing I know, I'm standing with the others, waiting for news on Lance. It felt like forever, when it truth, it had probably only been about 5 dobashes. During that time, Allura landed the ship on our previous location, stating that she was going to talk to the king about the situation.

Waiting was all we could do. We waited and waited and waited, until finally 3 Vargas later. Pidge somewhere during that time returned to us and was now waiting with us. She explained how the machines were damaged and won't be available for the next quintent, which concerned us all greatly. What if Lance needs them? Finally, Coran walked out, looking nervous and maybe scared? Not a good combination.
"How is he?" Keith was the first to ask.
"He's...alive. But..."
"But?" Pidge pushed.
"I don't know for how much longer. He has a minor concussion, a large cut on his forehead, a broken left sprained right wrist, he also endured many traumas to the abdomen, and h-he...had major internal bleeding. Along with a large burn running from his hip to his shoulder. He lost a lot of blood. And that's the problem, we're in space, your species' blood is not common here, as you can tell."
"Is anyone a suitable donor?" I turned to the group. They all looked dejected and I tightened my fist, holding onto some hope that Lance will be ok and that we'll have back soon.
"I can donate." We all paused, turning to the voice.
"Keith?" Hunk asked.
"Yeah, I've done it before, you know, when the Garrison was hold a blood drive, the teachers offered a bonus to any student who donated. Plus, I'm an O-, I can donate to anyone."
"That's a relief, Keith hurry, the longer Lance goes without this the more danger and strain were putting on his body. Let's just hope this is enough to barely push him to the right side."

And done! Omg, do you know how much research I had to do for this chapter, let's just say I think I now know why I'm never becoming a doctor of any kind. We're nearing the end of this book, but the ride has been an enjoyable one. I don't think I'm going to make a sequel but who knows, maybe I will. But anyway! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 33k!!!! I NEVER THOUGHT THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN!!!!! THANK YOU! I got the problem sorted out so were back to pictures again, yay! The art is obviously not mine and I hope to see you soon!!
