Blood 2: DECONTAMINATION

Nagising ako sa loob ng isang puting kwarto. Halos hindi ko kayang buksan ang  mga mata ko sa sobrang pagod at uhaw ng katawan ko.

I closed my eyes for a moment and forced myself to remember everything. Napahawak ako sa ulo ko nang bigla itong sumakit. I hate it when I change the color of my eyes. It really breaks my head in pain.

Where are they? I thought when I remembered them.

I stood up to find my balance again. I observed and walked around the room. Walang pinto ang kwartong ito. I could not even call this one as such. It was more than like a jail.

N-Nasaan ako? I wondered in confusion.

A blue figure of a woman suddenly came out from the monitor.

"Good day, Mr. Crimson! I am Blue Queen. The decontamination will start now. Be ready," sabi nito.

I moved backward, trying to protect myself from any attack.

"Please stand at the center of the room."

"And why would I do that?!" pasigaw na tanong ko.

"You only have three minutes to enter the glasstube," sabi pa nito.

Naagaw ang paningin ko ng puting usok mula sa paligid ko. Napansin kong papunta ito sa direksyon ko. I got curious. Lumapit ako dito at sinubukan kong hawakan ito.

"Fuck!" I shouted in pain.

Nasunog at halos matunaw ang buong kamay ko dahil sa init nito! It's definitely a poison! Halos umiyak ako sa sobrang sakit nito.

"Two minutes before the extermination."

I'm starting to panic. Nagsimula akong tumakbo palayo dito. Kailangan ko ngayon makapasok sa loob ng glasstube.

"One minute before the extermination."

Mas lalo akong kinabahan nang makitang lumiliit ang pinto ng glasstube. I ran as fast as I could and jumped towards its door.

"Impressive. You made it," she announced.

Nakahinga ako nang maluwag nang makapasok ako dito. Mula sa loob ng salamin, nakikita ko pa rin ang usok sa paligid ko. Napansin ko ring naglaho ang mga sugat ko sa kamay.

Salamat naman, I whispered.

"Please take off your clothes now. You have a minute to finish the order."

Halos tumalon ako sa gulat nang magsalita ulit ang babae. I did what she said. Wala akong tinirang damit sa katawan ko.

"Prepare for the next stage," sabi ulit nito.

"W-What?" I groaned in exasperation.

"Please hold the handle now."

Lumabas ang tinutukoy niya mula sa taas. Hinawakan ko ito at agad na umikot ang glasstube. Halos wala na akong makita sa sobrang bilis ng pag-ikot nito. I closed my eyes tightly but it didn't help me. Nahihilo na ako at gusto ko nang masuka.

Then suddenly it stopped, forcing me to vomit everything.

"Excellent. Your internal organs are now clean," sabi ng babae sa monitor.

I shivered weakly and put my arms around myself. Nanghihina at nahihilo na ako.

"Prepare for the next stage."

Then the glasstube opened its door, letting the smoke invade and burn my body.

I was screaming in pain. Halos mabaliw ako sa sobrang sakit at hapdi ng katawan ko. I can see on the glass how my skin disintegrates from each other. Para akong isang hayop na nabubulok dahil sa patay na ito. Disgusting as it seems but it's true.

I was about to stand pero biglang nawala ang tinatapakan ko. Nahulog ako sa isang mahabang tunnel. The pain was more than I could ever imagine.

I closed my eyes, surrendering my life and waiting for me to die. Gusto ko ng matapos ang lahat ng ito. Pagod na ako. Ayoko na.

"The subject's current life span is 40%. Critical Condition."

Napangiti ako sa narinig ko. I want to live, but life doesn't want me to.

Come on, let me die, I prayed then.

"The subject's current life span is 20%. Extreme Critical Condition."

Pero nahulog ako sa isang malamig na tubig. Wala akong maramdaman na sakit o hapdi man lang.

Patay na ba ako?

Hindi ko alam kung bakit, pero bigla kong naalala sina mama at papa. Yung  mga panahon na hindi pa kami bampira. Yung mga oras na wala kaming ginawa kundi tumawa lang dahil sa mga biro ni ate. It was a great memory to bring before I die.

Pero bigla akong huminga nang malalim nang marinig ko ang isang pamilyar na boses.

"Impressive. The subject's life has been revived."

I opened my eyes and found myself submerged in water. It is not just an ordinary substance. It builds my body cells again and allows me to breathe at the same time.

What the hell is this? I thought in awe.

I reached the floor still naked and surprisingly, the water disappeared.

"Decontamination is successfully done. Congratulations!"

Nakahinga ako nang maluwag nang marinig ko iyon. I embraced myself and looked around. Everything in this room is painted in blue. Wala pa rin akong makitang tao sa paligid ko.

I started to walk and check the entire room. I got excited when I saw a white suit on the table. I reached for it and wore it at the same. I went to the mirror and I almost smiled when I saw my reflection.

It looked like I was born again. No pimples. No dark spots. No wounds. No scars. It felt like everything was new.

"Kindly put your hands on the monitor."

I almost jumped when the Blue Queen came back again. I did what she said. I put my hands on the monitor. It was reading and copying my fingerprints.

"Successfully done."

I held my hands back from it. I saw my name appeared on the monitor. It was a database of my personal files. Things about me when I was still a human.

"Welcome to Nightshade Academy!" she finally said and disappeared.

Biglang bumukas ang pintuan sa harapan ko. I saw vampires like me in immaculate white suits, talking while walking on the corridor. Napakaganda nilang tingnan. They look clean, decent and powerful.

Lumabas ako dito pero bigla akong nahilo sa kinatatayuan ko. Nakaupo agad ako sa isang  upuan. I was about to stand again when someone stopped me to.

I didn't dare to look at his face. His scent was telling me that I didn't have to worry anymore. That I'm safe and sound with him- safe more than I realize.

"Tristan."

"Stupid," he groaned in irritation.

Napahawak ako sa leeg ko nang maramdaman ko ang matinding uhaw ng katawan ko. Lumipat ang tingin ko sa kanyang leeg.

I-I need his blood...
